USUALLY, when I've gotten to the point that this is the only forum still active (of course, I work nights, so things get slow when I am awake and likely to be reading), I TRY (and often fail ) to step away from the computer... but... fuck me.. at 3am I am BORED STUPID.

I am certain that stupid bit is reflected in my posts when I DO post here ;)

pam.. when you've already gone through everything else (even the basement threads.. ) THIS is where ya end up.....

You know, I honestly get sick of hearing this nonsense.

I want to discuss real issues, not talk about what my cat is doing today or the other intellectual topics that seem to occupy other forums.

I want to clarify that I'm not advocating raw milk from from factory farming but from "traditional methods of pasture farming, enabling humanely treated and healthy cows raised in the open on high-quality pasture grown in vibrant soil to produce safe, nutrient-dense raw milk for healthy and happy consumers."

The farm the lawsuit is about is an organic farm that clearly believes they were selling milk that met that standard and they still gave people campolybacter.

I usually do stay out of them but I get tired of people criticizing this board.

For the most part they are honest political discussions.

No, we also buy from foragers. No restaurant has ever been ordered to prove where their food came from while i was working there.

All I know is that with sushi, if a customer asks, and you cant provide and prove origin, they can complain and the Health Department will be in to say hello.
Yep.  I do not deal with it on a daily basis, but I do remember from Serv Safe that you have to keep a certain tag from all fresh seafood, I believe it is for 90 days.  Failure to do so gets ya in big time trouble.

Have you been USDA certified?

Oh boy am I glad I hadn't taken a sip of coffee before reading your post. Clearly caution is necessary.

What?  Just the food services manager in me coming out,  I am innocent!

In order to overcome any trouble with the Health Department of cooking on the premises, most of the food was prepared in a certified kitchen in Las Vegas; and to further remove any doubt, we rented a certified kitchen trailer to be here on the farm for the preparation of the meals.

Some might say Laura is a drama queen.

Of course not me.

I would say she is an opportunistic bitch trying to get away with what she can.

Let me repeat this one more time, the "guests" she so loves are PAYING CUSTOMERS.

pam, you do just fine here. So does GT and the rest. And I adore when LP posts. It is so tiring to see the left/right paradigm day after day after day. And I LOVE it when my researching skills are tested. You ladies coming here test those more than the regulars in this section do. Its also nice to see a bit more class when reading threads. Yeah, I know, pot/kettle. Thats why I pull myself out of these threads every once in a while. It was nice to actually have a discussion without name calling.

Why no trial?  i thought he didn't dismiss the case altogether, just denied them a summary judgement.

pam

ETA: It says "The Zinniker Plaintiffs seek clarification regarding the court's decision and order dated August 12, 2011, which denied their motion for summary judgement."

Doesn't "their" refer to the Zinniker Plaintiffs? Why do you think it wasn't the Plaintiffs who asked for a summary judgement?
The judge denied the summary judgement. He didn't move in favor of anything. Why do you think being denied a summary judgement would mean there would be no trial? Why would it mean the Plaintiffs lost their law suit?

pam

My bad. Yes it was the plaintiffs that moved for summary judgment, and it was the plaintiffs that were rebuffed. I'm studying about 100 cases for finals, and another must have slipped in there.

What does it mean at the end?  Does the judge merely deny the summary judgement, or does he also dismiss the case?  Will there still be a trial?

FR

I feel so warm and fuzzy seeing all the luv in this thread I created. It just makes me want to puke. :-)

I'm not complaining but my point had to do with the legal ramifications rather than food safety. How commercial is commercial ? What I really haven't seen is just how they advertised.

If it's something like a fair or festival that's one thing, but there are millions of parties with pig roasts every year. You pay the ten bucks and drink the beer out of filthy mugs that you bring yourself.

I am fine with warning people bigtime away from soething like this if they choose not to consume that which is not 100% approved by big brother. Why would I have a problem with that ? But why do they have a problem with those who do not agree ? They see the crowd that does not comply as a liability, automatically. Statistics don't mean shit. Here's a statistic. Years ago there was no health department. Today there is one or more human beings alive. That means we don't need this shit.

T^T
