How quickly should troops leave? His campaign Web site says: "Obama will immediately begin to remove our troops from Iraq. He will remove one to two combat brigades each month, and have all of our combat brigades out of Iraq within 16 months. Obama will make it clear that we will not build any permanent bases in Iraq. He will keep some troops in Iraq to protect our embassy and diplomats; if al-Qaida attempts to build a base within Iraq, he will keep troops in Iraq or elsewhere in the region to carry out targeted strikes on al-Qaida."

I would like to point out that the troops started coming home the end of 2007. That was already in place, the withdrawal for some, before Obama took office.

He did say if the troops were not out by the time he got into office. When he got into office, the actions to bring them home were in place for the first 30,000 troops. I never expected them to be able to pull 90,000 troops out with all the equipment over miles of sand with security an issue in a year.

It took months of preparation to move the troops and armor across more than 500 kilometers (300 miles) of desert highway through potentially hostile territory.

We finally convinced him to blog about it -- which in the past 24 hours has ignited another indelible web meme. The mp3 files of Barack channeling his friend Ray -- and also his younger, more profane self -- have been Reddited, reposted, YouTubed, YTMND'd, waxy'd, and Farked. The blogosphere has been lit up by such instant catch phrases as "Sorry-ass motherfucker ain't got nothing on me," "This shit's getting way too complicated," "You ain't my bitch, nigga, get your own damn fries," and "Sure you can have my number, baby!"

I have always thought that President Obama was likeable as a person. I have said that many times. I would love to sit down and buy him a beer and shoot the shit.

I have never agreed with his politics and part of what I'd like to do over that beer is debate him.

I cannot say that he's been a good president and I can't say he's been the worst president ever. He has had quite a fight with congress and maybe, rightly so.

I don't think any presidential candidate has ever kept all of their promises. They make a lot of promises because they're trying to get as many people to "like" them as possible. It's the nature of the beast in American politics.

I am hoping against hope that Americans smarten up and start demanding candidates that will truly represent their best interests but, I think Americans, by-and-large, are sheeple that are so concerned with making ends meet that they don't have time to fully investigate politicians.

I agree, Obama is not the best, nor the worst. The last election became a media circus and the clowns were quite obvious. Palin, running for VP, became the most important issue going... which was what hurt the election. She should have been a slow news day issue, instead the media shoved her front and center. And, frankly, over her big mouth and bigger gaffes, you couldnt get to the issues.

Lets all hope and pray this election will be different. Hell, going back to pre-Palin election season would seem like a god send.

I don't know if its the better response, but it seems to be a common one. Personally I never bought into the "he did it first" defense.
