ORIGINAL: DaddySatyr Come on, Ron. Seriously? You know what "natural born" means, here. Again: I am not saying one way or another in a definitive manner whether I believe he was born on US soil or not. I just think that it took a little too long for a public official to produce something that just about every person has in their possession. I sincerely hope that President Obama was born on US soil because if he wasn't, he should - by law - be removed from office (or, at least removed from the 2012 ballot, at this point). Imagine, if you will, that Doctor Kissinger might have been a good president but was precluded from running. (I'm going to spell this wrong and I can't be arsed to look it up)Zbignew Brezhinski (Sec. Of State under President Carter) might have been a good president. Couldn't run. I think it important, in this day and age, for an American president to be native born; just to lessen the potential of infiltration. Do I think that makes it fail-safe? Hell nah! But, I think it's important. I don't understand people that seem to say: "The Constitution doesn't matter" when it is the law of the land and the "owners' manual" (if you will) for our whole society. Do I think: "We believe the certificate of live birth is sufficient" is a valid argument? Maybe. I wasn't convinced, though and I will re-state: I believe that it took a little too long for President Obama to produce a legitimate document that is a requirement to be president. I also believe that where there's smoke, there's usually fire. Peace and comfort, Michael My nephew wasn't born on US soil. He was born in Berlin, Germany. However, he is considered to be a "natural born" citizen because both of his parents are US citizens.
