Ya know, ignoring the Pope sounds like a fabulous idea. The man and I had a little tiff over a comment I made about the Pope. The man in the funny hat keeps going on and on about poverty. I mentioned that if he opened the Vatican's vaults and started selling stuff off, he could raise a lot of money for the poor of the world. The man kept interjecting that the items the Vatican holds shouldnt be for sale. I really hate hypocrisy... speaking of the Pope, not the man. [:D]

The things the Catholic Church has shouldn't be for sale? You mean the things they stole from Central America, Africa and where ever else they could lay their hands on things? I think your man is right, Lucy, the stuff shouldn't be sold. It should be returned to its rightful owners, meaning the cultures that the church systematically devastated. Christopher Hitchens and Stephen Fry debated a couple of catholics on whether the Catholic Church is a force for good in the world. The overwhelming answer was "no". RE: The Pope's statement. I guess I was wrong all these years. I always thought that trusted spiritual advisors who assrape those who are most vulnerable are the greatest threat to humanity. (hopefully, that is within TOS as I had to think about the wording a bit) Note to Mods: If it isn't, feel free to zap it, no explanation necessary.
