Some men also like men, or fat women, or black women, or are disgusted by "Asian" women. It probably comes down to two things genetics and environment (Or as the psychologists would call it nature and nurture) Which is going to vary from individual to individual.

do you have any questions that don't make you sound like a bigoted racist when you ask them?

This was my thought also about his post. I guess that works for some.

Also, I just want to point out that "Asian" as a category, can mean any number of things, and I'm not sure I would categorize everyone the same. I think which part of Asia one grew up in can make a difference. And I think whether you are first, second or more generation American of Asian ancestry can make a difference. I think to take an entire continent and say all women who are from, or whose heritage is from that continent, are all the same seems, well, simply, not possible. Are the English exactly like the Italians just because they are both European?? Add to this the fact that Asia represents over 60% of the world's population, and I think some are making generalizations that are stereotypes at best.

There are Asian women who don't fit any of the stereotypes that some have raised in this thread and I know so many who don't that to speak in these types of generalizations seems silly to me.

I think the flick 'Full Metal Jacket' has a lot to answer for, as does the experience of a lot of US servicemen in the 60's and 70's.

But I'm a brit and I remember falling overmyself to compete for the favours of a Malay girl back in college. I suspect its because of that exotic look to us Western types. Anybody experience being considered exotic out in the Mid or Far East? I suspect so.

Yes, I think this is important to note. You are talking about a small group of women, most, if not all, of whom are immigrants, who are also married. You didn't make clear whether these were educated, employed women, or not. And I'm assuming if they were married they had their own motives for being involved with you that may have, in and of itself, affected the dynamic. But I'm thinking, yes, this is hardly representative of all "Asian" women.

p.s. I also think we need to distinguish between being "submissive" in the bedroom and being "passive" in the bedroom. To me, these seem like two different constructs. Very few of the Dominants who I've been with (whether male or female, of whatever background) wanted passive. So it seems to be that when people are saying "Asian women are submissive" - this is code speak for something else that I'm not even sure is BDSM power-exchange related. [sm=2cents.gif]

i don't know about other guys, only can speak for myself.

i tend to be attracted to women of color, which includes asians. i enjoy their different perspectives, cultures, foods, music, attitudes and social aspects. I like diving into what's different from plain old North American. And I'm also attracted to what's different than me physically.

btw - like fucktoyprincess mentioned above, there's a lot of diversity among "asians". Esp southeast asia. Indians, or Thai people and culture are nothing like that of the Japanese or Chinese (or each other). Even with each province, each is known for certain looks or attitudes. (goes without saying, just like everywhere else).

Pyramus, you'd be interested to know that Asian girls are generally brought up to expect and believe that a man is governed by his dick and his stomach and not much else. It is drilled into them culturally that men have gigantic carnal needs and that they should put up with it if they want to get anything else out of them. It doesn't mean they're more understanding or intuitive of your needs as a man or whatever, it's just a fact of life and they should just roll with it. It is a mentality that sees women with wandering husbands accused de facto of not being able to satisfy their husbands' "needs" regardless of how available she makes herself to him.

I think one also has to consider though where in the socioeconomic spectrum one grew up. Just to use China as an example, lots of Chinese women are very well educated, and, in fact, working in industry and leadership positions. While I am sure growing up poor and in rural China limits opportunities for women, this belies the fact that there are many upper middle class and upper class Chinese women in China. But, of course, you are not likely to see those women as immigrants searching for a white man.

Also, I think there is a self-selected population of "Asian" (again, whatever that means) women who are seeking out white Dominant men, and it simply fuels a certain stereotype that is not true of the culture broadly. Most Asian women in Asia who I know might be deferential to men in certain public settings, but are making all of the important decisions on the home front. Again, it depends on what one means by passive - to a large extent in many parts of Asia, the passivity is a way of behaving publicly that doesn't always relate to how actual decisions get made in a household. lol This reminds me of a guy friend of mine in CA, he has been chasing a Thai girl for many months now, he sees her and thinks "porn star". lol She is originally from Thailand, divorced and he cant even get introduced to her doggie.. She has guys chasing after her and she just "wants to be friends", which means none of them are getting anything! But she pays her own way when she goes out with any of them.. He told me when she was living in Thailand that the guys thought she was fat and ugly (she is quite skinny now).. so she must be really getting off on the power she has to make men weak at the knees.. but they still arent getting any where with her.. lol! bingo! it's "yes honey" at home (esp in the U.S). and, in asia, as Alecta says, they roll with it more and accept it as a fact of life (men bad women good [:-]).
