Yachtie! The community has an obligation to maintain law and order for all of its members. Any member who assumes that obligation individually acts as a vigilante.

There is obviously a difference between community duty and individual duty, a distinction to which you wish to remain blind because it undermines your ridiculous position.

Please be sure to wear gloves to protect your little fists while you throw your tantrums.

So it's no good in private industry's hands, as you cite big pharma's lobbying. And it's no good in government's hands, though you've got nothing to cite except attitude.

That leaves....

What?

MING, the Merciless.[8D]

And that's why no one is taking you seriously.

Or your positions.

You know, Vincent, there is a great gulf between us. I don't think I'm owed a damn thing. You? You're owed everything.

What was done to establish your proclaimed right to keep and bear arms?
Do you really believe that the enumerated rights in the bill of rights are the only rights we have?

quote:

Not one damn thing was done to establish my right to keep and bear arms.

Perhaps you consider the revolution to be not one god damn thing.
Perhaps you consider the constitution to be not one god damn thing.
Perhaps you consider the federalist papers to be not one god damn thing.
Perhaps you consider the anti-federalist papers to be not one god damn thing.
If so that would be a serious misaprehension on your part.

Of course not. It even states so.

If that is so, how is that you know that health care is not one of those non enumerated rights?

Because in order to have it in the way being discussed it will take an act of legislation.

Are you really this slow? Or, is it something else?

That was not the question I asked you.

It wasn't?

I wanted to thank everyone that participated in this thread.
It's nice to say, this was a learning experience, I enjoyed reading most
of the responses {that were on topic}

Hopefully a few that feel health care is a RIGHT, can see the other side's point of view.
Those that feel health care is not a RIGHT, might gleam something from the other side's point of view.

Some of the issues discussed on these boards, are extremely important societal issues and concerns.
At the end of the day, this topic is not going to go away into the night, and our society is going to have to attempt to fix a health care system that is seriously not working for most people.

Peace

Is that a euphemism for being unable to defend your position?

Nope. That's me telling someone he shouldn't make assumptions about my belief system based on very little data.

Musicmystery -> RE: Memorial Day Question /Is health care a Privilege or a Right? pro's and con's (5/30/2012 6:28:05 AM)

Very little data seems the key here.

Proof surrogate.

Indeed. I know I would back off on any assumptions of another's belief system based off only two points of data if it were pointed out my assumption was wrong.

Musicmystery -> RE: Memorial Day Question /Is health care a Privilege or a Right? pro's and con's (5/30/2012 6:41:27 AM)

Irony.

Some people aren't ready for it.

Your "belief system" isn't in question. Your logic is.

Then you're making a bad assumption about my logic based on limited data. Said logic being based off of my belief system.

I never said that.

You have no concept of what a tribe, community, or society is. So perhaps you should just get on your horse and ride out into the desert and live your solitary, independent life. Then you won't have to bother with the rest of us. Just you and the tumbling tumbleweeds. Then you will be happy, Yachtie. But please, don't ask for help if you get rattlesnake bit. You're on your own, cowboy.

Ah. Circular reasoning.

Still bad logic, and based on a faulty assumption.

Again, your belief system is irrelevant. Facts in evidence are relevant.

You've posed a contradiction. What you "believe" doesn't matter. I don't even care what it is.

I'm going to go do work now. I know from the past your ego will have you posting all day in circles. That's my bottom line; just keep reading it.

Enjoy.

Then don't make untrue claims about it and I won't have an issue.

Actually nevermind. I won't have an issue with anything you say from this point anyways. The block button is a far more constructive use of time than anything I've seen you contribute.

Why should I ask when the community owes it to me? It's the communities duty now, isn't it?
