You dont think popularity matters in elections?

It's definitely a factor, I agree. But crowds gather for mixed reasons--curiosity and simply something to do come to mind--so I'm not sure that crowds necessarily equal popularity. And it's impossible to know how decisive a factor popularity is, particularly for a VP candidate.

I didnt see you guys making pro-wrestling comparisons when OBAMA used to draw big crowds

The one's in the crowd are already voting for Romney/Ryan, it's all those OTHERS they need to worry about.

Even Mondale could draw a crowd of believers, I wouldn't put much stock into the numbers at a rally of the faithfull.

If there's a head count, the 14,000 plus at the Schott in Columbus must mean that Obama will win?

Better yet, they once got over 60,000 to watch Pro Wrestling, and that is as fake as Mitt's smile meeting the ones in the crowd who don't give money.

I never put much stock in the size of a crowd at a rally, then, now or otherwise, unless there wasn't a crowd.

Remember, Palin was a great draw, it didn't do much for McCain.

Obama is a great draw, he is the President, and people want to see the President, not so sure that is a guarantee of success.

Fair enough. On the other hand, I honestly don't think I ever cited the crowds as evidence that Obama would or should win. If anything, I worried--rightly, as it turned out--that his exaltation would lead to disillusionment and backlash, because no mortal could possibly fulfill all those projected hopes and wishes.

I saw the same thing, but from another angle

So when Ryan draws those crowds, start a thread.

Well I can understand why you would rather focus on what others are saying and ignore the hate comming from your own head. But since you asked, I don't think the pres has said anything good or bad in the past several months. He is too busy trying to raise more cash than the other side and he really hasn't had time to think about anything else.
