I think there is a difference in "being naked" and "standing in front of someone and being inspected". Call me goofy, but those are two totally different things. Add in the stripping factor and then you've got an additional factor. Heckl, I stand in front of artists for hours and am "inspected" by them although this too is a completely different experience than being "inspected" in the way that is being conversed about here. I'm surprised, Janah, that you didn't see that difference. It seems pretty obvious, but I suppose it's just another example of ways people experience the same thing.

I have a feeling Master would rather me be more confident about it since he doesn't like it when I have self esteem problems. Being self conscious of myself means that I'm going to have a very difficult time paying attention to anything else other than my nakedness. I won't be able to concentrate on what he's doing to me. I can understand your point though. I think if a girl is simply embarrassed by it, it wouldn't be that big a deal. But if they have a problem due to self esteem and shame, that's a whole other ballgame to me.

My girl is my property and I simply won't permit/allow her to be embarrassed with her own body. Because it's actually my body, not hers, she is but the resident caretaker. For her to disapprove is to disapprove of my taste and my choices in what I choose to possess. But ok, she's still human; she has feelings and flaws etc like all of us. So we work on it, together, starting with whatever it is fuelling any self-consciousness or self-esteem issues. Mostly, I've found it to be a lack of confidence and one way to fix that is combining more naked time with positive reinforcement. Not sure I'd ever want a girl of mine to get to a comfort zone where JanahX is but naked and confident is still a sexy thing, just in a different way to a newbie's reluctance and modesty.... Focus.

I remember being on a nude beach in Jamaica and watching a couple who had to be at least 70 walking hand and hand down the beach naked. Was it visibly appealing? Yikes no it was not, but I remember being a bit envious of how free they were and their ability to do this comfortably. I, on the other hand, took my top off and felt extremely exposed and had to put on my sunglasses as if , if I did that I was less exposed. LOL. I was proud of myself though for doing it after I did it, havng the guts to do it. I noticed the people from Europe were alot more free about their body then most of the Americans. I was and still am built very well, but still that exposure of being naked to the world has never came as a comfortable feeling. The posing for a group naked, I dont think I could do it, I would feel close to death with the humiliation of it!!!! Even after being told I am beautiful or SMOKING HOT in the past, it never released me from that vulnerable exposed stage fright. I think alot of stems from the way we are brought up, and some of that stuff never goes away.

Nudity in a submissive means many things. In the ancient world, nudity was the expected state of slaves in the house. So nudity has connotations of enslavement. It can signify--especially if the submissive makes a formal submission in the nude--that s/he is immediately ready for what torments or frivolities the dominant's whim settles upon. I like to focus on the submissive's eyes. The window of soul is a good place to watch for the submissive's mental and emotional status. I'll want to walk her to, but not over, the edge. And of course there are many processes that work best, or only, with a nude victim. However, I bear in mind that in the Scene, we deal with nudity and with nakedness. What's the difference? I posted in a more generic sense here, earlier; I feel like being less generic now. I've seen a lot of comments about the nude body. There's other ways to be naked, though. When my girl's eyes are wide; when her smile blossoms - she is naked then, too. Vulnerable, beautiful, and if she wears anything in that moment it is the warmth of peaceful pleasure, fragile and overwhelming. Seeing this in her, I feel it as well. There are not sufficient words to describe those moments, but if I choose one, it would be bliss.

As has been implied elsewhere, the setting when she or they are seen makes a big deal of difference. If she is alone with me, I think of one thing while if it is just seeing others nude, it is sorta like OK, so what. They are the same person with or without clothes. When she is alone with me and she is nude because that is what I want then she is doing what I want but when it is a group then I am not looking at her as mine but rather as part of a group. Sort of like the nude model is to an artist.
