Do you suggest disbanding the military if we cannot pay cash?

In the grand scheme of things, the NEA budget is pennies.

Greetings,

Ah, here is where the business leader can save the day because they know that anyone in debt cannot orget that a lot of little things add up to a lot and a big difference and for the U.S. Government, a hell of a lot.

That is what Gov. Romney knows to be true.

Well wishes,
Arturas

In the end, the only money actually lost would be the $5 million removed from NPR. According to the company’s audited financial statements, revenue for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2010 was $184.3 million, up from $148.7 million the prior year. So losing the $5 million would have cost NPR 2.7 percent of its 2010 revenue or 3.4 percent of its 2009 revenue. Neither of those percentages seem like they’d put NPR out of business.

I find it hilarious that a program that we all grew up with in the US is taking the hit for 5 million dollars simply because its viewed as a Liberal program.
5 million? Come on. The military loses more money than that in a day.

Hilarious? How about disingenuous?

Romney isn't going after PBS because they cost too much. Romney will defund the NEA, which is where PBS's funding comes from, but that' not the only place the NEA's funding goes. That's why he said he was sorry to Jim Lehrer, too. It wasn't that he was going after PBS, but that he was going to defund the NEA and PBS was going to take a hit in the process.

But, way to spin it!

And, what is off the chopping block? "Subsidies for Big Oil?" Actually, no. They'll go, too, if need be to balance the budget.

PBS's money does not come from the NEA, although some programs funded by NEA grants do get shown on PBS. PBS and NPR receive their funding through a direct grant to the CPB, corporation for Public Broadcasting. The 0.01% of the federal budget that goes to public broadcasting is vital to keeping stations in low population areas going.

I'll simply say that if Republicans want to get crushed in this and future elections they should keep going after Big Bird over that 1 cent of every $100 in federal spending.

Means as you asked. If we are going to follow the Constitution we shouldn't employ an army without the funds to pay for them...aka...borrowing to go to war.

I gave my suggestion. Perhaps you should read it again for clarity.

I, personally, find that sentiment quite offensive.

Actually, Libertarians are frequently what conservatives used to be prior to the Religious Right takeover.

No insult intended to your wife but you should probably get a new person to do your books.

If the economy does add 12 million jobs during a putative 4 year Romney administration, which is what Romney predicts, those jobs would have to pay, on average, over $400,000 per year to bring the budget into balance.
http://www.nationalmemo.com/mitt-romneys-fuzzy-debate-math/

Don’t be such a simpleton.

Simply to state you mean no offense is generally an opening to doing just that. And you held true to that.

Using her intellectual prowess, or lack thereof as you are implying to advance your brand superfluous nonsense shows a level of class that I hadn't previously observed in you.

You know as well as I do that Romney has no intention of implying that widening the tax base as being the only action that needs to be taken to balance our budget. My wife could understand that part, perhaps you should spend a bit more time enhancing your own intellectual capacity before you chose to offer various degrees of mockery or duplicitous notions of levity in the direction of others.

Look, Find me any other time in the last 18 months when Willard said that Regulations are a good thing. I will save you the time. You won't find one. That would have been willard circa 1994 when he was a different willard than he is today.

But, he did say it now. I'm good with that. Have you spent the past 3 plus years keeping count of the things your man has said he wouldn't or for that matter would do? I think Obama leads on the questionable integrity graph.

quote:

Your paraphrasing of his direct comment is admirable. How about going back and listening to it. No where in those words were ever "Obama supporters" or "Democrats". Hell that isn't even the worst. How about just the notion that all Democrats want to suck off the government and can't and won't take personal responsibility for themselves. That he can't be bothered about worrying about "those people". Who is those people? To be a Leader of this Nation, you lead everyone. Not only the people that you think you like.

This is a chief talking point of the secular spin factory. Romney said something stupid, no doubt. But watching all the other stuff he's said before and since I don't believe that your particular spin was what he intended that to mean. You can keep readressing this point, but know that your wasting your breath on me with this issue much the same as I am with you.

quote:

I think you missed my point. He said last night he wasn't going to lower taxes. Which is the exact opposite of what he has said for the last two years. I think he was the one to say that Hermans 999 was chump change compared to what he was going to cut....So what happened to that?

No, I heard him say he wanted to cut taxes to twenty-five percent. To which he implied that in doing so the job growth that would created would generate revenue that would make it seem he had made no cut at all. Perhaps selective hearing is an issue for you.

quote:

Go back over the tape and really pay attention this time. Even get the wife's help. I am sure you will see the replacing Obamacare part this time.

Done, well to the degree I had time for.... Again paraphrasing, He stated that health care should be managed at the state level and if a state wanted his help establishing something like the Massicusits model......

quote:

End of the day, I am from Ohio. We weren't doing so well under Bush to begin with. But, with the housing collapse and the consequent pressure on the Auto industry we were on the ropes. Totally, on the ropes. I've said it before. From Toledo to Zanesville to Warren to Dayton all those cities would have been CRUSHED if the Companies would have faltered. Those jobs would not have stayed in Ohio. We've been down that road before here. The bailout saved us. Got our economy rolling again. We've got investment in Cleveland now we haven't had it years. A new beginning. All because he took the chance to believe in us. So if that is "secular" then so be it. I can sleep well with that.

So Obama did some good, even a broken clock is right twice per cycle.... I haven't had a great deal of personal experience with Ohio lately, but I have some very dear friends there and they dislike your man, Obama a great deal... I'm under the impression that a good many folks credit your Governor with every bit as much of the success as Obama. It is interesting that of the states that were broken and on their way out, the ones best on the mend have GOR Governors. In any event..... I like Ohio a great deal and I am very happy that your state is rebuilding itself; hopefully your Browns will follow along.

And yes that is secular, though you misunderstand why. He was bailing you out to pay back his Union Providers. He really doesn't care about you personally anymore than he does the fellas in Gitmo. You're all political fodder.
