He appealed to the bottom of America and the bottom is far larger than I had thought. Romney appealed to the goodness of America... not that phoney assed hope and change bravo sierra... and there just flat out are too many takers and not enough producers. Here's the thing. I can't do a thing about it except hide my assets. They are running out of money for their schemes... hell, correction, they have money as long as their Chinese masters give it to them.. When China pulls the plug on this bunch, and they will, oh dear will we have some rough times here. We will look back at nearly $4 a gallon of gas as the good old days, and a whole lot more. So go ahead, trash the "white" house... have fun. As for smart businesses, their capital assets remain off shore. As it should. And now more capital will out flow from America. As it should. You ain't seen nuthin yet. So enjoy Sandra Fluke and her birth control and big bird... find out what "women want" by watching The View. Aye carrumba, My fellow Americans are brain dead. By the way, explain to me how you get a peace prize for doing nothing?

Now, what was it certain Republican biased posters were predicting in the event of the Kenyan losing the election last night?
Cry cry cry...

One thing that did strike me, as I sat at a bar and watched simultaneous blather from CNN and Faux Nuze......

There was a race somewhere in this country that pitted:

Whitehouse
Hinckley

I will leave it to you to ferrite out the irony.  Don't know who won.

Did Ryan win back his seat in Wisconsin or is he historical altogether?

Have you a clue why government(any government) exist?

cloudboy -> RE: Post election thoughts. (11/7/2012 7:04:07 AM)

I'm very surprised that Romney lost all the swing states but N.C.

I now wonder if the FNC and Rush Limbaugh (and the right wing-nut-job media) create the Frankenstein Base of the Republican party that is so out of step with main stream America. The fringe right used to be marginalized by the party leadership, now its the tail wagging the dog.

mnottertail -> RE: Post election thoughts. (11/7/2012 7:04:17 AM)

I don't think it originally was, and in context it wasn't anyway, I think a post got clipped there, Huntie, and you were the upchain inline.

Two... The people are not ready to give either party full control of the government... and I dont blame them. Its time both parties started working together. Until they do, I dont se ethis trend changing much. I, for one.. just one lone vote... dont really trust either party completely. And I love the fact that there are these checks and balances in place.

Three.... I have a sneaking feeling that the midterms will be a feeding frenzy next round. It all depends on how well our elected officials can get along. I look to men like Christie to make a subtle change in how he deals with both parties.

Four... Obama squeaked by... not so much because of who he is.. but who he ran against. Romney was feared by women and the minority vote. Something the GOP may want to keep in mind next time. That doesnt give Obama a pass. He needs to deliver on his promises this time around. Else I see the WH going definitely Republican next time.

The people spoke tonight.

The people didnt speak.. sheesh.. they feared the boogeyman more than they feared moving "Forward" at a snails pace.. and that is what it will be for the next 4 years and imo, very likely even the election after that too.. If anyone feels that deadlock in govt is good (where nothing actually gets accomplished, and that is not gonna change despite ya'll thinking govt is gonna magically "start working together" now), then its gonna take a long time for the economy to "recover".. businesses that can afford to will look to make money outside the US & not invest here, small businesses in the US will only grow slowly & cautiously.. this moving "Forward" is gonna be painful..

Its the result I expected tho.. I have said for a long time that Obama would win again.. human nature being what it is... [sm=sleepy.gif]

Well, at least they now know that's a problem, rather than a good idea.
I wouldn't hold out any hope for improvement until they stop having elected officials apologising to a loudmouthed "entertainer" who can't tell his arse from his face, though. Presumably I'm not the only one who finds the presence of dittoheads in the senate repulsive...

GreedyTop -> RE: Post election thoughts. (11/7/2012 7:18:51 AM)

TJ, please speak for yourself.

I voted for the person I thought best for the country (if he can somehow get the opposite party to get off their so-called MORAL high horse).

My vote was MY VOICE. I spoke for myself.

sorry your preferred candidate lost, but when (according to CNN) even the Catholics preferred Obama at the exit polls, you know SOMETHING is outta whack with the Repub. nominee...

angelikaJ -> RE: Post election thoughts. (11/7/2012 7:28:44 AM)

FR
In the beginning of the primary season it seemed like the preference was largely "Anyone but Romney".

He tried to toe left to appeal to the religious "morally right" conservatives and toward the end he realised he was losing the moderates in a big way, so he tried dancing towards the moderate middle.

I think that he just wasn't very likable by either the right or the middle.
The far right voted for him because they didn't have a choice and the moderates favored the incumbent.

I was watching a string of Larry King Show episodes (Hulu) and one was an interview with Keith Olbermann.
He said that he really didn't think the race was as close as what we were being told in the media... and a close race made for a better story.

edit: spelling/grammar crap

ummm... you are wrong, I never had a preferred candidate.. I dont believe in the 2 party system or that either of them are best for the country.. I have said that many times also..

Your govt is deadlocked (again) and that is gonna hurt the country, big time.. your govt is gonna spend all its time fighting each other, just like the Ds & Rs on these forums do.. its not gonna change a darn thing.. the man you think is the best to run your country has his hands tied behind his back..

DaddySatyr -> RE: Post election thoughts. (11/7/2012 7:35:32 AM)

My thought is: I don't hear the PPLs on TV and elsewhere, bitching about the Electoral College; like they did in 2000. There's not some kind of double-standard in play here, is there?

Peace and comfort,

Michael
