What I seem to find sometimes is that a man who beats a woman is automatically deemed a a misogynist. Even that there is no proof that he is a misogynist or if he bashed up a woman simply because he hates women. On the other hand, when it's a woman bashing up men, the sexism card seems a billion miles away.

Tazzy, those of us who post on the other site all know nicky boy!...He's been there posting under socks as of late, seems he has worn out his welcome. I couldn't imagine why?....lol

naughtynick81 -> RE: Why the double standard? (11/28/2012 7:21:53 PM)

As for silvermark, all he has to offer to us in this thread is personal attacks. It would be surprising to actually see him contribute anything worthy to this discussion.

All you are doing is attacking any female that posts here.

Why?

It's called arguing. I thought this is normal for such parts on this forum. Why should arguing this topic be on a different standard to any other topic?

tazzygirl -> RE: Why the double standard? (11/28/2012 7:28:13 PM)

Oh no no no dear. It should be debating points. Instead, you have implied women here have lied to you, laughed at you, made jokes at your expense..... None of which is true.

Lords and Ladies, this is worth a showing of Jerry Springer...[sm=jerry.gif]

in response to your video, i'm sure you'll find that, on the whole, folks here don't find non-consensual mutilation amusing or titillating. not all women (or men) agree with the talking heads on the view.

it's wrong to beat anyone, unless we're talking about self-defense. as for the bashing, it depends on what you define as bashing, which seems to mean just disagreeing with you about what is sexist or misogynist. when you lump all women together as "male-hating feminists", you're not going to get a serious debate about sexism.

Made jokes yes, but claim that they have lied and laughed at me? I don't think so.

What's really happening here is that a handful of people want to avoid and ignore the real issue. That real issue being is in the article. So by doing so they make a diversion tactic and try to make this about me and blame me for why things in the world are wrong.

The article doesn't mention me. If so, can you point out where? The article has nothing to do with me. I have no relation to the article at all. So why try to make this about me?

Pathetic aren't it?

tazzygirl -> RE: Why the double standard? (11/28/2012 7:33:01 PM)

I disagree. He has some valid points. Its not what he is saying, its how he is saying it.

Laughed? LadyPact.... you accused her of making a joke at your expense.

Lied? LucyLastic... when she graciously offered to make you a web site.

You wont get away with back pedaling here.

Show where I ever made this indication?

What do you exactly mean? Do you even know what the word "lied" means?

Well, you are certainly free to apply what labels to it you will. But in the US it is "assault" (?and battery?) and if you did it to me you'd be in jail and owing me some money. The legal system tends to have it's own labels and they trump yours.

Assault is when I tell someone I am going to hit him with a bat, battery is when I actually do it.

I agree. For me, nestling amongst some terrible misapprehensions *are* some good points. But, IMO, he's using the wrong weapons and shooting at the wrong targets.

RavenKanosis -> RE: Why the double standard? (11/28/2012 7:42:24 PM)

I am late jumping in this thread and in fact I don't post much in cm at all but when it comes to any issue it is the job of the people not the government. It is your responsibility to make an issue noticed and to make people aware. The people are responsible for petitions, protests, marches, flyers, and organizing. The government then responds. See feminists were asked "what are you doing?" The response was "making the world aware of our suffering!" The governments see these sufferings and make policies to change them. That is how it works.

A slap from a girlfriend that doesn't live with the victim? It's more likely going to be an assault charge, as the other circumstance that make it a domestic violence charge don't exist. Living together automatically makes it a DV case when the cops show up.

Violence is violence. There is no way around it. There is only ONE good reason for it and that's for self defense. Other than that, no woman is entitled to slap me across the face. Regardless if I call her an ugly bush skank.

There is a huge social problem that many people (particularly feminists) ignore when it comes to women slapping men. Ya know, the common attitudes out there? He probably deserved it? You go girl! Wow that was funny! Let's make a joke out of it!

Geez and feminists claim women are the second class citizens. heh

Lucy offered to make you a web site.

This was your response. You reacted as if she would simply do it to shut you up. Unfortunately for you, we all know Lucy better than that. You said her intentions were not what she stated, instead, just to make you go away. Thats how you called her a liar.

If you actually cared about this issue, Nick, then you wouldn't try to pass responsibility off on to others

So the same standard applies to everyone who makes a thread on any topic that exist? This applies to all the threads we see in this forum? Or does this only apply to a male who expresses male issues?

Can you see how ridiculous your stance is? How can it not be ridiculous to have one standard for a male expressing male issues while another standard for everything else?

As much as you are desperately trying so hard to make me look silly, you are only making your self look silly.

I'm not going to reply to anyone else who is carrying on with this childish game.

Firstly, I think everyone is already aware that violence against men exist. If you don't know, you must be living under a rock. Secondly, no, it's not the responsibility of the average powerless person. It's the responsibility of the people who have the power and make policies in society for a living. Such like politicians, powerful people who run organisations etc.

Using your logic, why would we need presidents, politicians, political parties, etc? They are the people who control society, right? So that means the people who control are responsible in making it a better place.

Without the government, where would VAWA be? They need government power (tax payers money) to keep going.

absolutchocolat -> RE: Why the double standard? (11/28/2012 7:50:21 PM)

the vast majority of your posts, so far, have included anti-feminist remarks. you make sweeping generalizations of what women, as a group, believe. take a look:

quote:

Here in this case, we have a group of women with a mostly female audience laughing about a real life situation of a man's dick getting chopped off and put in the shredder.

quote:

Women discussing their issues = “feminism, female liberated speech”
Men discussing their issues = “whining”

quote:

We would never see this happen to a woman in here who simply expressed sexism against women. We all know this, so why keep bullshitting?

all women don't hold these beliefs. and feminists, as a group, have views that vary widely. when you acknowledge that instead of ranting about how shitty men have it, and the other "woe is me" silliness, then i think the conversation can move in a more productive and positive direction.

i'm with tazzy and peon, you've definitely made some interesting points about double standards, but it's wading through the other BS that makes it hard to follow you.
