I cant help but think there are going to be a lot of people looking foolish on the 22nd.

And all those people that spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on "doomsday" bunkers, massive supplies of food and water, guns and more ammo than they could possibly use in a life time, are going to be hunkered down waiting for all hell to break loose.

I have a few friends that are in this group.

I cant wait to call em up and say, "I told you so, now what?"

I just want to laugh at them...The end of the world as we know it will come when I get a date.

I was just watching a show on NatGeo, and they were talking about the ONLY monument the Mayan left concerning the date 13 bactun, or the 21st of December.

It talks about a feast or celebration.

By the way the world is supposed to end at midnight on the 21st.

Midnight WHERE? If the shit is going to hit the fan, I know which gas station is going to have the Beverly Hills and Marina Del Rey evacuees deciding it's time to top off their Range Rover loaded with supplies, and I need to get down there with the riot gun to set up an ambush, before all the good spots are gone!

Well, the heart of the mayan empire was Guatemala, and that is in the central time zone.

By the way, it is your sworn duty to take the good looking female evacuees as prizes of combat to be used as you see fit. The might even know how to cook, wash dishes, do laundry and other tasks you are not fond of doing.

Of course while you are doing that, the aliens I have sold 2/3's of the human race to will be arriving to begin picking up their property. They have agreed to take only the terminally stupid, reality tv show production staff and stars, and professional politicians.

Unfortunately, they have been monitoring our Television broadcasts and refuse to take Lindsey Lohan, Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian and Charlie Sheen.

Well, the terminally stupid will be on the 5, 10, and 15, and the politicians will be airborne, but I'll just tie up anybody from Beverly Hills. Unless they will be taking sleazy agents, and scumbag slumlords, in which case I'll do the same if my mark is from Marina Del Rey. [;)]

Lets face facts, Doomsday aint happening.

However, should some apocalypse befall our already human damaged planet, there are some people who would survive. Those that have prepared for such an event, and, unfortunately those who survive by shear dumb luck.

The dumb luck types would be those people like Lindsey Lohan, Charlie Sheen, Paris Hilton and those people who have little or no socially redeeming qualities that have become famous either by some latent talent, or by profiting on some event that placed them in the spotlight. They would have no skills to contribute to the survival of the group to which they become attached, and considering their behavior, probably no worthwhile genetic contribution to the survival of the species.

Compassion would prevent people from letting them attempt to survive on their own devices, and the group would take them in.

IMO, Lohan and Sheen will survive because they have already been preserved in alcohol and won't notice the effects of the apocalypse. Ever.

Tastes vary, and if we are going to survive in a way more meaningful than isolated hermits and inbreeding, trade will be a vital part of that. Intoxicants are wonderful trade items. If Charlie and Lindsay can produce their uberstuff with the materials available, they can stay.

As long as you don't actually grow them, it's legal to buy kits to grow psychedelic mushrooms. You might want to put a couple on a shelf somewhere, just in case.

I know about the mushroom kits. It is also true for the hydroponic kits to grow pot. You can legally own the seeds in some states, but it is illegal to put the seeds in the hydroponic units.

I was waiting for someone to post that Jello commercial.

Now, according to NASA and the people who are in charge of finding objects that are gonna impact earth, there is nothing anywhere that is a threat to the earth in the next 24 hours, or the next few years for that matter.

None of the Super Volcanoes on the planet are showing signs of harmonic tremors meaning that magma is moving toward the surface.

Sunspot activity on the sun is not threatening a massive solar flare that will knock out the world power grid.

International political situation does not indicate a nuclear war is in the works for any country.

That leaves the possibility of an alien invasion, and going back to the first statement, no one has seen anything moving toward the planet.

So baring a few hundred million people eating Mexican food tomorrow and all farting simultaneously I think the planet is safe.

Of course there is the chance that Charlie Sheen and Lindsey Lohan will suddenly swear off booze, drugs and sex, in which case the universe will end due to shock.
