By signing he creats the law. Obama could have refused to sign it. It would have to take the Congress a 2/3 thirds vote to over turn Obama refusal. Remember a bill and a law are two different things.

Back before the Uk went nuts on Gun control they used to have a Firearms Officer. In the UK it was a police officer or civilian hired by the Police authority, often retired police or millitary personel with extensive firearms skills and good knowledge of people. However in the US it could be another body. Say the NRA?

Essentialy this guy would drop round every year or so, check you kept your firearms in a safe place, well maintained and were not an obvious danger to yourself or others. They covered a smallish patch, were normally firearms users and enthusiasts themselves and got to know people pretty well. They would also talk to your employer, Doctor etc if they started to worry about your state of mind. They would often look after firearms for people when they went into hospital etc
How about something simmilar for 'modern sporting firearms' or high capacity mags etc. Make the NRA police its own backyard.

The Mall shooter killed himself after killing 2 others.

Birmingham the police shot the killer after he shot another officer and two employees.

The church I have no clue about.

These two werent stopped by "armed citizens" unless you want to count the shooter and the police as "armed citizens".


thats what I get for listening to other people Mall shooter committed suicide after meeting armed resistance from armed citizen, as these shooters consistentlly do that the armed citizen may or may not have influenced this.
your rendetion of the theator shooting is at odds with the coverage here soyou may well be describing a different incident
As for a church shooting the only one I personally have seen an article on in the last year was in Colo, Auroa I think were the shooter killed two in the parking lot and was stopped in the foyer by a armed parishiner


Best evidence now known about Holmes actions show the reason he picked that Theater was due it showing a midnight Batman movie. Again guns had nothing to do with Holmes choice.

so were closer larger theaters that did not ban weapons

Status: offline 		After reading the bill, the drones are to be used on the mexican border and over areas of civil unrest (remember the LA riots) but as for armed, that is not going to happen.

Actually only two have the placard that makes it illegal to carry a concealed weapon in the theater. Meaning even with a permit you cant carry in the theater.

It wasnt a position, it was a question as to whether anyone knew for certain. Do you know he didnt call before hand? Do you have proof he chose that theater based solely upon it being in a no gun zone?

If so, please provide that proof.

the only theater in town is a weapon free zone so if I have ever gone to a movie I would know

Seems there are many in Texas who dont know its legal.

The reason is because the legislature excepted out the places you can’t take [a gun] and a movie theater is not one of them," said KHOU 11 News Legal Analyst Gerald Treece.

NRA board member Charles Cotton helped write state gun laws and after seeing reports of the shooting in Colorado, he immediately wondered if any of the victims had a license to carry.

haven't gotten to talk to him so I can't prove that is why he made the choice the fact is he choose the only gun free theater in the area and these nut cases virtually always choose gun free zones or do you want me to believe that it always just a coincidence

And you are basing that upon the assumption that he went. Until Christmas, I hadnt been in a movie theater in years. The one we went too had no such sign. And its one within 20 miles of my home, and one that in 4 years of living here I have not entered.

Again, do you have proof?
