You guys do realize that with 3 pages we have given these 2 (Morgan and Jones) more attention than they deserve

tazzygirl -> RE: Piers or Alex Jones... (1/9/2013 7:11:52 PM)

I think its a good case to study... 2 assholes... with very different styles.... one ending up looking like a demented nut case.

FR

Isn't Alex Jones the guy that PAHunk used to cite all the time?

tazzygirl -> RE: Piers or Alex Jones... (1/9/2013 7:33:06 PM)

Infowars.... yep.... pahunk's favorite site

Nosathro -> RE: Piers or Alex Jones... (1/9/2013 10:38:04 PM)

Dump Ted Nugent did you mean ? I'd rather keep him around.
I knew you could own silencers with all the right paperwork. I'm curious to know what Owner is talking about. His post implied something other than jumping through hoops and the laws already in place.

I was responding to the OP and referring to Morgan and Alex Jones. I didn't check out your link. Love Ted as musician. I agree with many of his non musician viewpoints. Beyond that I wish he would compile his viewpoints and give them to someone else to deliver and keep his mouth shut. I cannot stand to hear the guy talk. He's exactly the kind of lightning rod we do not need.

I wasn't aware of the NRA stance on silencers. A quick Google search seems to indicate that they advocate them for hearing protection purposes. I didn't read any further since it's a stupid idea (if it's even accurate). I guess earplugs and shooter's muffs aren't good enough. Ted and the NRA should both move to Venus. The do more harm than good for the causes they champion.

Without the NRA, past and present, I doubt if we could even own handguns at this point.

The NRA was founded in 1871, to think of the 100s of thousand of lives and more that would have been spared if the NRA was not orginized.

But, of course. It's worked everywhere it's been tried on large-scale populations with the mindsets of Americans. I mean, we weren't one of the first countries founded on Government getting its rights and authorities from the people rather than people getting their rights and authorities from the Government, or anything like that. I think weapons are like "bath salts" and turn people into killers. It's just a matter of exposure.[8|]

You forgot to engage your <Sarcasm Font>. If you don't, there are people who will think you agree with them.

Herman took her 9-year-old son and daughter into an upstairs bedroom and locked the door. They went into bathroom and she locked that door, too. She got her handgun from a safe, the report said, and hid with her children. At some point, she called her husband, who kept her on the line and called 911 on another line.

A responsible owner doing what any mother would do.

tazzygirl -> RE: Piers or Alex Jones... (1/10/2013 6:27:17 AM)

Didnt see me saying otherwise, did you?

Aswad -> RE: Piers or Alex Jones... (1/10/2013 6:50:40 AM)

Where I live, I suspect Jones would find himself in a ward somewhere for a good, long while; the upshot of which being he wouldn't be as embarassing.

Insanity is just sad. Well, sometimes, as with Jones, it's also scary. Like all other technologies, guns amplify people, which can be bad when those people are insane, and this guy has tons of them. He's the perfect argument (for a general audience, of which my opinion is, shall we say, realistic, not optimistic) for gun control lobbies, given his blatant paranoia and lack of touch with reality. In all fairness, though, I think it's scarier that the guy has access to the Internet, which amplifies him in another area.

With 262M views on YouTube, this guy is reaching folks he could never have otherwise, which probably does more harm than he could ever manage to cause with a gun.

Just ponder that for a moment.

Assuming his videos are 2 minutes long, then 60.000 man years have been spent watching them, and possibly half of those were spent doing other than laughing at him.

Every single point he wanted to make could've been transformed into something useful in the hands of a sane individual, and instead all he did was underline an old quote Kirata tends to use on here, atrributed to Voltaire although I can't find confirmation of that: «It is far better to have a thousand idiots attacking your views than one defending them.» And calling Jones an idiot would be an insult to sane idiots. Rather have a monkey from the zoo on my side than that guy, I think.

Congratulations to Piers on scoring cheap points by exploiting a mentally disabled man.

What a freak show, eh?

IWYW,
— Aswad.

Hill... go back to what I quoted and look at what I bolded. I think you may discover why I posted that.

Hillwilliam -> RE: Piers or Alex Jones... (1/10/2013 7:16:39 AM)

That's why I said "Responsible owner".

DomYngBlk -> RE: Piers or Alex Jones... (1/10/2013 7:19:07 AM)

And why does that instance have anything to do with keeping semiautomatic attack firearms out of the reach of people.
