I often read similar comments to this in the P&R forum. Now its in someones tagline.

Not only is it factually incorrect, it is also offensive, ignorant bollocks.

Anyone who can show me otherwise, using some proper facts. Feel free.

I have no facts just the thought the most Americans hate anyone from another country saying anything that undermines their overblown sense of pride and love of their country. Brits are the 2nd biggest contributers here so we get the most amount of flak. I think flak is an appropriate word given recent threads

I wouldnt mind the comments if they had any basis in fact. What pisses me off is our lads are currently dying fighting alongside theirs.

I don't think I have ever seen that notion
expressed on these boards.. But, apparently Polite has,
so I will take his word for it. Maybe I wasn't paying
attention. However, in my personal life experience
I have never encountered that sentiment. I don't
think it is one shared by the American public who
is pretty well aware that Brit boys have gotten
caught up in our tragic 21st C wars.

Vincent, the general public here had no qualms about going into Afghanistan with your troops. Many, indeed most, had problems with going into Iraq. Most of the ire here with that was aimed as Blair and not Bush. Hence the reason Blair didnt hang around until the 2010 election.

It was my tagline, chosen because I was getting tired of the 'Holier than thou" attitude a few British posters were demonstrating in some threads. I have one now that is more appropriate.
