ORIGINAL: jlf1961 If you think his "arsenal" was scary, you would shit a brick to see mine. I recently acquired a nice combat shotgun, so that brings my total firearms up to 14 I believe... Add to that 9 bowie knives, SAS dagger, ghurka knife, 7 bayonets from various eras, 4 machetes, and 9 fighting knives of various types. I'm not a knife guy, I've got some big Randal Bowie Knife I got close to a decade ago and that's all I've used in hunting (dressing), but I've got the usual bayonets that tagged along with those surplus rifles I own (sitting in a bag with all its greasy goodness), but I would like a Ghurka knife just for the fun of it. I'm now down to 18, thank you Obama and the hyperinflated market that only crested a couple of weeks ago (a Saiga 16" .223 with five thirty round mags for a grand is just plain bizarre, but I'm glad to have the money, then the reaping from AK and AR-15 variants was just bizarre, I wish I could have sold off my CETMEs and kept my FALs). I've sold ten firearms since Sandy Hook, thank you Gunbroker. I did get a Ruger SR9 in trade on some work I did for a friends Dad (whose wife hated the SR9 he bought for her). Four are surplus sort rifle (SVT40, Hakim 8mm, Swiss 1911, Springfield Trapdoor) collectibles. Eight pistols and six rifles, oh wait and that shotgun I always forget about so 19. I haven't shot it in five years but it gets cleaned every six month along with the other safe queens. Two of the pistols are black powder cap and ball types, one Ruger Old Army .44 (still need to get the cartridge conversion for it but for the price I could just get a Ruger Super Blackhawk 7.5" in six months), one ASM production CVA Colt Navy 1858 I think that supposed to be able to have a shoulder stock fit to it. My next purchases over the course of the year are a Howdah 20 gauge black powder muzzle loader, MP-15 in .300 Blackout (if it can be got through S&W's Instructor purchase program), another Ruger Super Redhawk .454 Casull that I can then send off to Pinnacle to have the .45 ACP conversion done (shoot .454 Casull, .45 Long Colt, and .45 ACP), and maybe a Kahr PM45. Granted I'm holding onto some revolvers till I move out of .357 magnum (good revolvers are only going up in price). I'll sell my Spartan 1911 this year if I can get at least $475 for it, if not then I'll build a 9mm complete slide for it using a slide ordered from Caspian. I'm selling off my Romanian Tokarev (down to a thousand rounds and never got into reloading for it) at loss in October to finance another project. Soon as I get the Kahr PM45 I'll sell off my Rossi 462 for a couple hundred bucks (still in 90%+ condition). I'll sell off my Glock 23 soon as I have the next .454 Casull. Eh probably not. I'll just keep buying and buying and buying. Guns are the next best investment to Gold as I've seen so far. I sold 20 bricks of .22lr for no less than $60 a brick that had been sitting in my closet since 2008 when i had bought them from Walmart over the course of a few years. Guns and ammo can be a hell of an investment so long as Dems still exist.
