ORIGINAL: Hillwilliam When 3-D printers are outlawed, only outlaws will have 3-D printers. 3-D printers don't kill people. Guns kill people. But you will get my 3-D printer from my cold, dead hands. Ugh, I hate to see (and hearing) this statement. It always seems to be the shield that every anti gun person hides behind. Guns DO NOT kill people. A gun is a tool, an inanimate object. It is no different than a bow, a knife, a sword, a spear, etc. The cold hard truth is that PEOPLE kill PEOPLE. Yes guns are (like many other devices) designed to kill, but to blame the gun for doing what it was designed to do would be tantamount to blaming a car for killing someone when the driver was drunk. It's lunacy, would you ban cars? Ok, sure it looks bad for guns after the events of Sandy Hook, and all the school shootings that came before but what would really happen if guns were banned. Lets take a look at countries where they are to see our future here: June 8, 2001, at Ikeda Elementary School - 37-year-old former janitor Mamoru Takuma stabbed 21 children (eight died from their wounds) with a kitchen knife. Apr 9th 2013, at Cy-Fair campus near Houston - Dylan Quick, 20, was charged with three counts of aggravated assault in the attack against 14 people at the community college (with a small razor like knife). April 27, 2012 - A man stabbed two people at the Smith’s Marketplace grocery store in downtown Salt Lake City before being subdued by a bystander, but wait police say the bystander had a concealed carry permit and witnessed the attack, stepping in to keep it from escalating. Hmm, so is it possible that guns can save lives as well as take them? I am quite certain that my post will bring an onslaught of opinions, some maybe more rational that others, but these are just the facts of the world we live in. To deny them is, as I said above, just lunacy. ------------------- Back on topic, HURAY for 3-d printed gun! I don't need one, but the concept of it is quite cool. I would however love to my hands on one of those 3d printers.
