So I must have learned through punishment, pain and torture?

And, is that you equating Master with being a Sadist?

quote:

A submissive is most times also a masochist girl, and she wants pain, so she is impossible to train as a slave, a slave must not enjoy pain, but take the courage to learn.

Oh wow, lots ot assumptions here, darling. And I am only one of many slaves who prove your point wrong.

When am I slave? when he calls me such.

When is he Master? when I see him as such.

Beyond that... it doesnt matter.

FR:

I began my first post on this thread with this sentence:
quote:

I am [my] Master's slave.

I did not say "I am a slave."

There is a specificity to my identification as a slave.
I am not a slave; I am His slave.

I am His slave because that is what He inspired me to be.

In my estimation, a Master is a Guy who owns a Slave. The term denotes the kind of relationship he has with his sub. If the Slave leaves, that guy is no longer a Master until he gets a new Slave to be master of.

All this BS about skill level qualifying someone to be called master is just ego. There are good masters and bad masters. Just as there are good husbands and bad husbands.

Karate Master is a different kettle of fish altogether. That kind of master has mastered a craft. The craft cannot leave him like a Slave can.

By that definition, you can't *be* a karate master out of the dojo, anymore than you can be a fishing master if you're not actually fishing at that second in time.

This makes no sense to me. If you're mastered a skill, you *are* the master of it, whether you are practicing or not.

But, you know, JMO, YMMV, yada yada.

To the OP:
All of these terms are open to interpretation, to the point that we will never have them defined in stone. Your opening post shows, as others have pointed out, that you are a sadist. Your correlation between sadist and Master is incorrect. One has nothing to do with the other.

Having said that, I can say that your assumptions about the definitions of these terms is totally off the mark. You have a big learning curve ahead of you if you desire to one day be a Master.

My advice. Just forget about the terms. Instead focus on your education. There are many books out there from the viewpoint of Dominants and submissives. Read as many of them as you can. And from both sides of the camps. Some of the best learning experiences I have had was from the submissives point of view.

There are local BDSM groups in most areas that have get-togethers, brunches, etc. And there are conventions where classes are taught, and where you can interact with people at all levels from beginners to people who have been in this lifestyle for decades. This is the path to mastery.

Please do! I have been blessed with some amazing women in my life because of that. My first real D/s relationship was with a woman I hadn't yet learned that lesson and we paid the all too dear a price in torment, unhappiness, and in the end, loss. We so very much wanted to make it work but we were trapped in that bullshit punishment dynamic that makes couples adversaries rather than partner.

Edited to add, that was not the relationship with the woman some of you know from here, the one I am soeaking of was many, many years ago.

Personal definitions:

Dominant - A person with the Dominant role in a Dominant/submissive dynamic

or

Dominant - A person with a socially Dominant personality

Master - A person who owns a slave

or

Master - A person in the leather community who has earned certain items of earned leather

or

Master - A male who considers himself a part of the Gorean lifestyle and considers himself Free

That's about as open and accepting as I get on the matter.

Okay consider me dense. The concept of forgetting about the terms and educating yourself about the lifestyle are solid, useful suggestions. I never said word one about being a Twue anything. Was my advice not appropriate? If not, please do elucidate.

I'm really confused by this response. Can a karate masters knowledge leave him? Can he ever be without his Mastery? No. But a guy can be lord over an empty home with no chick to play slave. If he does not have a slave... He ain't master of anyone. Thus. Not a master. Period. Oh. His friends might assure me he's a master at rigging, or he's a master of the crop. But that's all hearsay. Can he open a crop dojo? If he moves to Singapore vs LA, will anyone respect his "mastery". Lol. No. Not really.

Basically. In my view of the BDSM world. A Master owns a Slave. That's it. All the rest of the Masters are just chest thumping egotists.

In the leather culture...yes, really.

In the view of BDSM, Master has nothing to do with it since BDSM stands for Bondage/Discipline/Sado-Masochism. BDSM is basically kinky sex. You can engage in BDSM and never engage in D/s or M/s. D/s is Dominance/submission and M/s is Master/slave which you can engage in without ever engaging in BDSM.

I don't believe in the term "consensual slavery", so I will not call myself a slave, but I still call him Master because he is my leader and the leader of our household.

By your terms, this man who has managed to have a 13 year, successful, happy D/s marriage doesn't deserve the title "Master".

If you're happy placing labels on your relationship feel free, but I would suggest that you refrain from sticking those labels onto the relationships of others.

I can see that happening. LOL On facebook I have a very small private list of people I get into the most fun and interesting conversations with. Someone will post a comment and I will be laughing then see him click his phone on to see what was so funny.

Hmmm.. I never mentioned anyone being "twue". That was Miss Kitty... in response to angelica.... I am assuming in response to angelica's conversation earlier with the OP.

Your advice was appropriate. The "twue" part was in reference, I believe, to the fact that the OP kept trying to push his definitions onto everyone else as to what a Master/Dom was as well as what a sub/slave was, as evidenced by him claiming angelica was not a slave.

Im not sure why you would assume that comment was about you.

I see myself as Master,

Have you actually mastered the art of Domination? Do you know the skills and walk the walk, not just talk the talk? Do others see you as a Master, or is it just you?

quote:

and seek only girls who perceive themselves as a slave, a submissive girl will submit and do as they are told, but slave must learn through punishment pain and torture and that provide a Master / Sadist then he or she achieves results.

No, slaves do not have to learn through punishment, pain and torture. Slaves, just like submissives, learn through many ways.

quote:

ORIGINAL: hrxxx
A submissive is most times also a masochist girl, and she wants pain, so she is impossible to train as a slave, a slave must not enjoy pain, but take the courage to learn.

Again NO. A submissive is not "most times also a masochist." Some are and some aren't. I know multiple submissives of both genders that are not masochists. And I also know some that are. Making generalizations make a person look ignorant.

quote:

ORIGINAL: hrxxx
What do you see yourself as Master / Mistress, Dominant / Domina. And are you a slave or submissive

I see myself as a "Domina" or Domme. I have not yet Mastered as many Topping skills as I would like to and I haven't been in the "lifestyle"(I hate that word) that many years....four and a half years to be exact. I will not consider myself a "Mistress" unless other people consider me such. Plus, besides that, I don't need to own a "slave," I'm happy with a submissive.

quote:

ORIGINAL: hrxxx

Yes I'm sorry, but I'm not inexperienced, but it sounds like you were before you found your sub! I know what I want and I do not want to change a sub up to be a slave.

to me you're just someone who settle with what you get

A "Master" would have more self-control than to stoop to cheap shots and childish insults. You do those things, therefore you are not a Master. Plus, your profile is only a month old. Unless you have a hella lot more experience in the lifestyle than that, you are not qualified to call yourself a Master.

quote:

ORIGINAL: hrxxx

well id almost fall a sleep reading you profile

Ditto the above answer. Again, you stoop to cheap shots and childish insults. No self-control does not seem like someone worthy of the title "Master."

It was a FR if that wasn't clear - most of us have seen this all before and it tends to induce mirth that someone thinks they and only they can define what is "real".

Damn, I hate it when you have to explain snark *makes note to type FR next time*

The OP's profile has 85 rules for a slave.

It was boring and seemed like thousands of other prepackaged lists.

To me he is neither Dominant or a Master as I don't believe in assigning lists.

I prefer working out a relationship organically with an individual; not someone who wants everyone to fit into a pre-conceived list.
