Seriously. How do you use a site where 95% of the messages and profile views you receive are CLEARLY spam accounts? At the very least they could flag accounts with the SAME URL in every profile description or members that claim to be "native american" and are clearly not.

I claim to be Native American because guess what.
I am.

How do you check someone's ethnicity without blood tests?

Irrelevant point. I love when people personalize unnecessarily. This obviously does not apply to you.

It's not irrelevant because YOU brought up people claiming to be an ethnic group (native american's to be specific) when they were not.

So my question remains.
How do you proof someone's ethnicity w/o blood tests?

Many scammers have multiple or alike accounts witht he same ingo.
I pressuem you have only 1 account?

Right now there are lot of profiles advertsisng for an other bdsm website .. with something like Http:// xxx.nl.ua
A spamfilter could get these out..as soon as there are multiple entrances over more then1 profile.

I'll be interested in seeing this keyword list that couple be used to police the profiles programming-wise.

I'd be really interested in this, too. Let's test the theory.

Here are some phrases from My own profile. All are being taken out of context:

online BDSM

I do personal instruction

via the net

professional Dominant

book sessions

On a keyword search, My profile would probably take a hit. I don't know anything about programming, so I have no clue if the part about how I *don't* do those things would even register.

Arent they typically one word?

like.. sessions... pay... tribute...

I have even seen profiles state they are not into financial domination, yet would they not be flagged as a result? Seems to me they would be.

Yes, they are typically single words (from my experience).

Such as professional and tribute.

Yes even those who states they don't practice financial domination or not pros would be flagged because the specific words would still be in their profiles.

I'll be interested in seeing this keyword list that couple be used to police the profiles programming-wise. Unless a scammer says "Im a scammer" in their profile, it's all going to come down to a subjective and arbitrary set of standards for what constitutes real people. Who's standards to determine the real-ness of someone? You, OP? You can of course come back with some snarky little jab, but the question still remains the same regardless.

When does it cease becoming someone else's responsibility to create and tailor our experiences here for us and when does the time come for each of us to take responsibility for our own experiences?

Exactly my point. This long list of stuff you posted was present and in place prior to OP beginning this thread. The tools are there. You just have to elect to use them. And let's not forget the biggest tool in the entire tool chest...COMMON SENSE. You can't program that.

Yet I am not getting that web site to work.

kiwisub12 -> RE: Collarme needs to do a better job of policing its userbase (6/13/2013 2:11:38 PM)

I really would like to know what the OP thought this thread would do? Gripping to members doesn't do anything to fix the problem. I can't do anything about the issue - if it truly is an issue. Basically, it seems that you are wasting everyones time.

I get this a lot at work - bitching and moaning and administration never hears any of it. And strangely enough, nothing ever changes. [8|]

Rawni -> RE: Collarme needs to do a better job of policing its userbase (6/13/2013 2:14:21 PM)

I was making a journal entry and got an error message. Humm... what the hell was that? I wonder and try again. Again I got the error message. So I look at my post and low and behold... I was filtered! I said a word in a great context... okay fine, I thought it was great. So great I love to say the word, often and it isn't vulgar for those of you that know me. No, it is a simple word used in a wrong way by those breaking TOS and laws depending on where you are. I didn't even use the full word and the word in context to what I was saying wasn't allowed.

Sometimes the more innocent... I said... more... meaning I am not always; get caught up in the filtering systems. They cannot express freely what they wish to share or impart because we have been protected by a site that many say, do little to keep things going well or according to what they think is well.

Someone once said, they just need to ban this country and that country and anyone that has too many profiles. Nice idea, but some people in this or that country are actually really cool people. Do they get hindered because some others aren't? Too many profiles? ROFLMAO! If there is a way to monitor and prevent things, there is a way around it and guess who knows how to do that? Yes, things might be better somehow, but it is what it is.

This isn't something at this site alone. It is everywhere, though some sites get more of it simply because of the type of site it is. You get horny people, you will get those willing to pay and those wanting you to and then you get those enterprising souls that decide they can make bigger bucks if they direct you to their site. Then you get those that wish to attack computers and those that want to fuck everything but their spouse and you have what we have.

Get over it... move on... If you can't take the heat, fan yourself before you spill all your body waste on everyone. I have a squirt bottle if that will help.

ravishers -> RE: Collarme needs to do a better job of policing its userbase (6/13/2013 2:15:09 PM)

that is a good thing
5 months ago I reported a few profiles linking with a short url to a mallware website. ( they were nicely removed btw)
it is not always good to try links you don' t know..lol

If I were to make a 2nd profile. (as has been suggested by a group of folks)
One for personal and one for my pro services.
Wouldn't they have similar lingo, hell in some situations exact same text?

That's what I said until I ran into that one thing... my security couldn't manage. Fuckers. Nearly took my computer out and I had to call up a new security tech and beg for help. If it hadn't been for Norton... you all wouldn't be bothered by me and my chance at an increased income would be over. Hell, most security programs don't protect against the google search virus. That one got me too and all I did was do a search and clicked a link. Each time... money honey and many hours of frustration, trying to save my comp.

Still would be only 2 profiles? The big worries should be about 5 or more similar profiles I guess.

And yes there might be false positives. Hence it always needs to be guarded with real people.

now I really go sleep.[:D]

Exactly.

Are you willing to pay a membership fee so the folks responsible for doing so are not volunteers?

ETA: OP are you willing to pay a membership if that is what it takes for the site to implement the features you are suggesting (to cover re-coding and paid staff)?

true, really really bitching is an over kill.
But normally pointing at some problems is often seen as bitching on the web.

Claiming that 95% of profiles and messages are scammers isn't pointing out a problem. It is venting, bitching or screwing with the numbers to make a point you didn't have to embellish upon to point something out.

I was referring to my personal experience, not the site in general. I don't know if the SPAM is bad in states with smaller populations but here in the NY tri-state area its pretty bad.

I'm sorry if the statistical average was inaccurate. I concede I didn't actually calculate the exact percentage, but used that figure to suggest a vast majority.

Dude.

I was the first person who responded to your thread this morning and now I see it has taken on a life of it's own. Kudos to your tenacity, althougth I doubt it gave you the satisfaction you are seeking.

I am in NJ like you are and I get no spam emails. Why? Because, as I told you, but you did not address it, my profile is not structured to attract scammers. Yours, is.

Now, again, if you wanted to help the site, I told you to contact the owners directly.

Offer your tech services for pay or, if you are so dedicated to fostering a community, volunteer your services.

No one is faulting you for speaking up about things in life, but really, is this something that important in the grand scheme of life? If it is, I would say you don't have many big problems in life.

The rest of us have 99 problems and this site's policy is not one of them.
