I took a critical look at my shirtless self in the mirror, and decided that in the interest in keeping the sanity and eyesight of the population here, I should refrain until after I've hit the gym for a few months. There are things that cannot be unseen...

Gary, you flatter me. But trust me, in the interests of keeping everyone's sanity/eyesight/screen safe from harm, it must be this way. While once I had a rather imposing physique, age, injury, and gravity have conspired against me, which along with my Irish heritage, ensures that I sunburn through my clothes.

I doubt any here would want to see a bright-red chubby guy in sunglasses (yes, even at night) with a lot of body hair pouting and flipping the bird shirtless while demanding material tribute.

However, I cannot guarantee anything the next time after I visit my ever-friendly watering hole. Many bad decisions in my life have been made there. I pray this will not be one of them...

Hi MasterC, I too am fighting a valiant rear guard action against the forces of gravity . People would just laugh if I were to flip the bird at them. Between the pair of us, we could rustle up enough 'tribute' for a beer & two straws, what do you think ?

It would have to be one helluva long straw, seeing as you're in England and I'm here in the States, but I see your point. That's why I intended to aim a little lower, and just troll for WalMart cards...I'm sure there's some kinksters in the trailer parks...

And we do have better beer!!!!

Malcolm McClaren in one of his songs reckons 'Trailer Park Girls go round the outside'. Not sure what he meant, but, you could have a point .

Seconded!!

I spent 8 months sampling many so-called American "beers"
Just like all those "beers" in Europe - foul-tasting piss water!!

Gimme a decent real ale any day!

ETA: Amber Bock was about as close to anything drinkable that I found over there.

8 months sampling North American beers and they were all nasty? I find that incredibly difficult to believe. I've had real German beer and it blew the socks off any other red ale I've had but plenty of micro-brews are delish.

No such thing as "real" German beer!
It's all nasty-tasting dish-water.

Compared to a decent English Real Ale (a 'proper' beer), they are all putrid.
Even the Aussies couldn't do any better than Fosters! lol.

It's ok if you like/love lager.
But for a beer drinker, even the best lagers are no more than piss-water.
I'm not talking about alcohol content either.
I'm talking about a decent flavour (or lack of it in foreign 'beers').

The only thing I'd do with Budweiser (sp?) is wash my socks in it!

ETA: If Carlsberg brewed a decent beer, they wouldn't be marketting 'Carlsberg'!!!

American beers in America are great, export versions not so much, I'm an English real ale fan, German beers are ok, Swiss beers are really good, but they don't let them out of the country .

What you're forgetting Gary, I sampled them in their own country - not the 'export' version.
I didn't really like the Swiss beers either; but they were definitely better than German or French or other European beers.

As I said, if you like lager, you'll probably find foreign beers ok, or at least drinkable.
But I'm an avid Real Ale drinker and virtually all other 'beers' just aren't "beer" - not even close!
Amber Bock was close~ish to Newcastle Brown but that only makes it just palitable.

I used to play a lot of the U.S bases back in the 80s, the Buds they gave us there, were a lot better than the stuff they exported to Britain. I like the real ales, if they've got weird names like Doom Bar & Dr Hexters Lunchtime Special, so much the better ! There's one called Titanic, so named because it goes down well !

Okay, but there's an ale (sorry,a stout) here called Saranac Dark Forest that blows it out of the water, in my opinion.

If males could get away with it, they'd be doing it too. But we can't. It's simple supply and demand.
People will take money and things from others, if they can do so. On this site, females (submissive, dominant, vanilla, everything in between) can find males to give them free stuff, so they do it. Human nature. Disgusting, but human nature.
