Tweakabelle, you hit my point spot on. The poster showed his ignorance of atheism and when called out replied in a most uncivil manner. Was a helluova tantrum but unsurprising of someone who doesn't know what he is talking about and has to resort to ad hominem attacks and bluster and blather to hide his short comings.

Why the hell would someone want to reinvent the wheel?

dude, bro, TOTALLY fell into that one.

what wheels are on your car NOW?

what wheels were on cars in the late 1930's?

what wheels were on the FIRST automobile?

Why would someone re-invent the wheel? because of what YOU PAY FOR, and are willing to buy, and demand.

as per TIRES. remember the tires on the first cars? NO? Because there WEREN'T any!

and people who created real wheels and tires did so by hand.

unlike....

APP-WANKS.

most often 'can't be anthing but a whingy bad xerox of a Catholic Priest" atheist.

how many apps you got on your phone, Vinnie? BWAHH HAWWW HAWWW

No more than the rules laws and regulations of any society. Like it or not most western judicial systems have their roots in religious doctrine.

Bullshit

Thought crime doesn't exist in every society.

2. Cause and effect are not separated. Does religion make for depression, or do depressed people seek out religion?

Looks like you didn't even bother to read the brief summery of the study. Cause and effect ARE seperated, that's the whole point of the study. It turns out that the depressed are more likely to drop out of their religion. This is why a slight benefit to religion has occasionally cropped up in previous studies which didn't seperate cause and effect.

and I will have great fun watching someone like Got Steel have a ball with the "happiness quotients" given to various areas of society, and comparing Berkeley and similar areas to places that are significantly "Believer" in terms of their demographic.

as opposed to places, Oh, kinda like...

THE EASTERN BLOCK, circa 1962.
