Yeah, but I am in that crowd as well, I used to be a permaban until the great allie allie in free some years ago.

Trust me, they need moderators, if they allow free speech,  cuz some of us don't suffer fools gladly, if at all, and the problem is, there are knaves that vend and fools that gulp all sorts of rancid shit around the inet.

Dude, I've been here 5+ years and in all that time I never saw you get as downright mean and vicious as I saw some others do. I think you're a good example of someone who maintains a good balance between a bit of snark and providing quality content with your posts.

Uh, trust me, thats only because the only girls writing me nowadays have gold typewriters, and access to dictionaries with which they decimate my language thru restrictions, and they aint who I want to see unglued, so I oblige.

I'll trade you a snazzy custom title for the recipe

I'd also like to ask Chi and Gamma the difference in what the site is considering a minor coding change and a major coding change and how much potential there is to work with? Brainstorming is great but it helps to know what is constructive and what isn't.

I'm conceptualizing ideas such as adding a new section to the forums, which we may be able implement ourselves with current forum management tools, as "minor coding."

Red's excellent idea about making the profile side more social would be "major coding."

Can we assume that any facility that's relatively straightforward to implement on other forums (VBulletin say) is minor coding?

That would work, but it would also involve making an effort.
Which is probably exactly the reason why the mods are unlikely to do anything of the sort, especially when it's easier to change one of the member titles, and then pretend that they've achieved something constructive...

Rest assured that staff is discussing this thread. You could help us out by making a list of bullet points, and separated by:

1. No coding changes
2. Minor coding changes - forum side
3. Minor coding changes - profile side
4. Major coding changes - forum side
5. Major coding changes - profile side

Sorry, but I have no interest in doing you people's job for you if I don't get moderator privileges out of it.

Honestly, I like the idea of having us organize suggestions by how much work they would potentially be. Unfortunately, I have no idea what the software on either side can do or how difficult it would be to make any of my suggestions happen since I'm not a coder. For all I know, something I consider fairly minor might be a much larger undertaking than I thought. Could you be a little more specific about what is minor/major/somewhere in the middle? If I'm wondering, I'm sure someone else is too.

Now, now, everyone's going to see your snazzy new title - the least you can do is share the recipe publicly

You've chased me away; and I only stuck up for a new poster who didn't make the perceived correct first impression the regulars wanted to see.

When i first started here, i posted a thread asking if people in small communities had trouble finding other BDSM folks to meet with. And because I was using a mobile device, I didnt even properly see forum rules. Make sure the forum rules are visible, please. I made a harmless mistake in which thread I posted my question, and since then I have seen off-putting and cold, even rude behaviors from the clique who frequents these forums.

And now as a result of speaking up, i'm being monitored for 3 days. Lovely. Welcome, welcome.

This will be my last post in these forums due to how big brotherish this whole thing is.

I'm sorry you were treated so poorly but, I feel I need to clear something up: There is no Collar Chat Clique. The CCC doesn't exist; just like la cosa nostra; just ask the members of the clique.

The unfortunate problem is a few of the CCC members are also moderators. Train wreck forums at their best.

It's against ToS to "accuse" (I always love the use of the word) someone of being a moderator but I know who a few of them are and it is ironic to see them dishing the moderation for shit that they and their friends get away with incessantly.

There are people worth knowing, here so please don't just abandon the place. Just avoid the morons and all will be good.

Good luck,

Michael

Seriously? I was on the thread that she wouldn't shut up on, and she was a royal pain in the ass. Maybe those posts were deleted so you can't see them now, but this wasn't some massive abuse of power.
