Now, now, Butch. We need to show a little tolerance and compassion. Their pride is all they have left. Keeping up appearances, stiff upper lip, and all that. It works to our advantage. Hell, they were even dumb enough to go back to Afghanistan, when we needed some extra bodies to keep the American casualty numbers down.

bet they don't spell color as colour on the test...lol...damn spell check.

As far as I'm aware.... yes they do.
The international language is English.... not American.

And the last time I heard on the news about a Greek oil tanker that ran into trouble, all help was refused until the captain found someone who could speak English and relay colours and spellings with the correct English phonetics.

With Canada not annex-able, we all know...it would mean war. But hey, at least mostly poor boys would die while the investor could do what war is for...make some money. Maybe another false flag op would do it.

This thread may need an interpreter for the satire-impaired.

Does this mean you really don't want to help us bail out wall street again, die 3-4 years earlier while paying twice as much for your health care ? I'm shocked, I tell you...shocked.

Who threatened your home? Be specific. Quote it.

You think Canada would willingly do this ? In as much as there is no way they would and that 'annexation' would mean by force...there's an implied threat to everybody's home in Canada.

"Should the United States annex Canada?"
An annex is an invasion, doesn't get any more threatening than that.

It was a topic for discussion, not an incite to do it. Now, if he'd said "Should canada be disallowed from the Stanley Cup?", you'd have some fighting words.

.....or the easy way. We could just as well make annexation of Russia a much more interesting topic. At least they have all of that oil and beautiful women.

The Americans haven't managed to subjugate Iraq and Afghanistan after eleven years. Why in hell's name would they have any better luck with a country that has the sort of crippling winters that fucked up Napoleon and Hitler in Russia?

Oh please. Weather doesn't stop at the border. All the nasty wither weather that southern Canada experiences, the northern U.S. does as well and Alaskans are as used to artic conditions as any northern Canadian is.
Also, we will have much shorter supply line which is good because many of those poor people have never tasted a decent chicken wing and we will need to airlift supplies quickly.

What poor people ?

I really don't buy that the whole cultural warfare thing would cut it in a country that has decent beer, rather than one run by teetotal shi'ites.
"Oh, these yankee invaders have Budweiser and Coors! How wonderful! That's much better than Moosejaw, isn't it?"

Except that I like the occasional beer and wouldn't pour Bud, Bud light or Coors in the ground...it'd just kill my grass. I am not crazy about Canadian beers at all but it night increase the import costs of my Corona or St Pauli Girl.

America invading Canada would make a good plot for a movie but please, can we have a non-American director and producer ? That way it might turn out semi-believable

.....and probably the only way it would achieve box-office. Besides...Clooney is all tied up.

With american forces, I think Lichtenstein might be preferable, or maybe Luxembourg..............I think though with the way things have been going lately, San Marino might be about the right fighting weight as long as they don't bring all their forces to bear on the american liberators.

No, no can't do that. Far too many American dollars 'hidden' there. It'd be like invading, sorry...annexing Switzerland.

Maybe we should just annex all of North America.

Other than Canada...we already have. Mexico has no gravitas...just a little oil. Too easy and...no box office. It would however take care of most of the illegal immigration problem.

-FR-

The USA is a broken, evil, corrupt disaster of a failing empire and should be destroyed, not encouraged or allowed to absorb other nations.
Many of its people are good and decent, and it has a history of Liberty, but anyone claiming the country/corporation itself today is a good one simply doesn't know what's happening or is willfully ignorant.

Too seriously by far I'd say are several who have come to play,

Upon this thread so far from gay,

Showing little snits of hate over a patently absurd debate,

Upon this Super Bowl date.

Resources, chicken wings, language and beer,

Patriotic snipping both far and near.

Opinion have I on all this and more,

But I shall not be distracted from the score,

For you see a certain football game soon starts

at six PM around these parts.

Perhaps to this thread I shall return,

Or perhaps I'll become bored and it shall I spurn.

To all in CM land I wish you the best

(though my patience you sometimes put to the test)

And now enough of this rhyming shit,

In the comfy chair it is time to sit.

I'll bet it really pisses you off that your spell checker says its wrong too...

Butch

I don't need to use a spell checker: that's for Americans and other illiterates.

Only Americans could find the need to invent spellchecker Butch.

O-ho. So, you want to turn this into an international poetry fight eh, Marc?

Them's fightin' words, old son.

Actually, that really *would* be quite something: New Rule: People are only allowed to big up their own country and/or slag off someone else's in the medium *of poetry*.

What say everyone? If a majority vote for 'yes', perhaps the Mods would kindly enforce it?
