Status: offline 		I do not feel especially motivated, at least presently, to post here. There is clearly a confluence of reasons. Much of the confusion has to do with a division that Catholics make between the laity and the clergy which the Protestants do not make.

The clergy follow a set of rules that are more puritanical than what is followed by the laity. It is a purer form of the Gospel teachings and the notion of forgiveness of Sins is strictly observed. Everyone here seems to think puritanical means less objectionable, but this is naive.

Puritanical means stricter compliance. The teachings of Christ have an other worldly character which is not fully consistent with the teachings of the world. The inconsistencies have real world consequences, believe it or not. The practice of Catholicism by necessity requires diplomatic immunity and this immunity has been grandfathered.

As I have pointed out the movement away from the Church has been a movement away from God much like a coronal mass ejection from an exploding sun. This is why Protestant thought so closely mirrors worldly thought. The Protestants need to come to grips with this and take responsibility by returning to the Church. The stance the Church has taken concerning pedophilia is ironically a proof that the Church takes the Gospels seriously and is a true believer whereas the Protestants are not.

Whatever the Church does is thoughtful; hence, it is most unlikely that the conduct is as reprehensible as many believe. It is implicit that in the opinion of the Church that society is committing human rights violations. It mistreats pedophiles in ways that are fundamentally wrong, in a way that violates their dignity as human beings. The Church will not come out and say this out of modesty. It is nonetheless implicit and something you should be able to figure out for yourself.

I am upholding my Christian obligation to instead of accusing to understand, abstaining from being an accuser of the Church in particular. Satan is the accuser.

You will find that Catholicism is more agreeable than the many Protestant denominations. They do not follow the teachings of Christ as closely.

Status: offline 		While we have relaxed a great many things here and have tried to provide two political and religious areas, one for the purpose of allowing members to really get into it or calmly discus politics and religion, that doesn’t mean a free-for-all and that there won’t be any moderation.

I’ve gotten a number of reports and have just gotten to CM. I will be locking threads for review and/or removal until I can catch up. This thread is one of them. I do not promise to be quick about it and won’t assure a certain outcome. It is a wait and see at the moment, as I haven’t had a chance to review everything yet.

It seems there are a few who have taken the opportunity to abuse what we have tried to do and some might rethink what they are doing to stir things up around here. I am handing out bans if I find it necessary, considering a few factors, which are: how many posts are breaking TOS or Guidelines even in a more relaxed area and how much the member seems to be trying to accomplish something other than discussion. I do not care to dispute my actions, so if you get gold, you get gold. I am trying to be fair, but in the current environment, if you are stirring to cause trouble; meaningful gold is what you will get.
