DreamLady, this might be a long shot but would you be referring to the chicken dance thread? http://www.collarchat.com/m_100186/mpage_1/tm.htm#100186

Yes, that was it! It was memorable. And I knew it had something to do with a chicken dance, but that this wasn't the name of the thread.

There's also a good one started by Mad[or something else]Rabbit (?), a Dom with a bunny avatar against a lime green background. (Can't/couldn't recall what that was entitled either. [&:])

I don't know if they would do that. It was funny as hell but we deserved that thread getting pulled.

I'm surprised nobody has found a link the the 'crisps up the bum' thread yet.

Ron, it honestly did take me until just now. This one is enter at your own risk, folks. The famous Crisps thread.

DreamLady, yep. I remember MadRabbit. He had a good head on his shoulders. I think he was about 23 when I joined up here. Would you be thinking of this thread? http://www.collarchat.com/m_2099303/tm.htm

ETA - GMTA Spirited!

Edited again. Good thing. I got the first link wrong.

Spiritedsub2 -> RE: -= Stop it, RS. Dont be an ass=- (9/29/2015 1:05:13 PM)

Omg the replies to the crisps up the arse post are killing me all over again!

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: -= Stop it, RS. Dont be an ass=- (9/29/2015 1:41:35 PM)

I enjoyed MadRabbit.

Then again, I enjoyed Nocturnal(pretty hair guy), Jefff, Domiguy, etc. I even enjoyed BoB o.0, and the guy with the baby duck whatshisname. Sso maybe I'm not all that discriminating.

Hate to throw down on this uplifting thread, but there is another good chap off to meet his maker, NineBelowZero.

I can't believe I got the screen name right because he hasn't posted in many years. (Oh, I see, Other Male Switch 49 Ontario CN, so he wasn't a Dom.)

Not sure if his "Advice for New Dominants" was a sticky under Ask a Master, but it should be.

@Kaliko, as general reference material (let's say limited to 2 non-admin stickies per forum under General BDSM and the Ask a __ forums), I'm sure you would agree that thanks to ResidentSadist the BDSM Book List has been a wonderful resource in General BDSM Discussion. These forms of informative guidance benefit forum visitors, newcomers and regulars alike.

In fact, I have provided various subject matter links in my message replies as a kind of public service, which is why I have them saved in Notebook for quick access.
I know I don't have time to reinvent the wheel or spend more time than I have to when doling out advice to those who are in dire need of it.

Ja, there is nothing that says we cant be educational as well as stupid and clique-ie, or all them other perforations they throw at us.

Ron, he posted in his journal this January.

mnottertail -> RE: -= Stop it, RS. Dont be an ass=- (9/29/2015 2:21:45 PM)

Well, I dont want to say it was this august, but it might be, it seems so close. Been a bad year for me. Uh, went and looked on facebook, it was 25 July 2015. Seems like so long ago.

LadyPact -> RE: -= Stop it, RS. Dont be an ass=- (9/29/2015 2:49:20 PM)

I think that second time frame is probably the more accurate. I had seen him post some things on the other site earlier in the year.

Dang shame. He was a nice guy with a good sense of humor.

For Dreamlady,

The stats of that "MadRabbit" aren't the ones of the original. It used to be that if a person closed out an account and the screen name was dormant for a period of time, a new poster could come along, take the screen name and write up their profile, but the screen name would still have posts attached to it.

I hope that made sense. I'm not the most computer savvy person on the planet.

ETA - Confirmed. Several posts regarding his location in Charleston, SC and found one regarding him going to college. http://www.collarchat.com/m_899118/mpage_3/key_charleston/tm.htm#

Guess I should chime in around now

When I feel frustrated with or embarrassed by being associated with CollarChat because of the state of affairs, I remind myself of the story behind owner's mission and struggles to provide us with a free dating site and forum. His tribulations inspire my tolerance. I am also reminded that I found my slave wife here and many good friends. Seeing so many old friends and fellow forum members post replies in this thread gives me a warm fuzzy feeling and makes weeding through 86 spam threads to find someone or some topic worthy of having a discussion less painful.

FFS, RS. For a second you almost had Me fooled into believing you have a heart.
And I'm not talking about the one you keep in a jar on your desk.
quote:

You can give me a clean slate, and trust that I will do my best for you, as I have by removing your ban, or you can color me with whatever brushes you have on hand. That will just make my job here, and your results, more difficult to achieve.

You got it from me.
But then again, I never had any trouble with the Mods.
It is good to see someone adult in charge though.
It would be nice to see this place get back to what it once was
(Purely as an aside, I think the mod free zones help that lots)
Best of luck though. This site is like trying to herd starving jackals. They only stop turning on each other when a stranger wanders into range.
But what can one expect from a bunch o'sadistic freaks, you sick, twisted fucks, you :-)

In the meantime, you people amaze me.
Or mayhaps, nay, most likely, I'm just not slick enough to have been invited into the Cool Kids Club.
I never had a clue who the Mods were. Never even wondered. Was surprised to see who they were when they disclosed their secret ID's on FL.
Mouse is good at that detective shit.
Me? I just post and let things fall as they may.
Never had much issue. Received a few gold letters in my day..and was crushed to see they weren't tickets to the Willie Wonka actory. Argued my case as best I could, even had one Mod say "Personally, I agree with you but the rules are the rules and I gotta enforce them." So I shrugged my shoulders and moved on.
I mean fuck. It's a website. Nothing more. I don't get emotionally involved with this shit.
In general I post here for the same reason a cat plays with a chewtoy.
For my own amusement.
And as long as it remains amusing I participate. When it's not, I don't and won't.

LP has it right. The original MadHatter hasn't posted here in a long time. Too bad-he was a good dude.

Cowsex immediatly came to mind re old threads. Loved that one. Maybe my favorite of all time. That shit is hysterical.

Last-good to see so many old faces. Does my cold heart good.
May all your nights be filled with screams.

Kana

PS-RS-I want a copy of that missive too, if you don't mind.

I didn't read all of the posts. Was this mystery ever resolved?

Did you piss off Anonymous RS? Otherwise, it isn't hard to know what happened. A mod with very specific privileges, not given to most of the forum moderators, was messing with you. I like to think whoever did it, wasn't being mean - just teasing you. I'm ridiculously stupid that way, and my new years resolutions is to stop thinking people are basically good.

If you feel like you need an ear to abuse...I changed my number.[:D]

ETA: I probably should have read all of the posts, before posting. It is not my intention to stir the pot.

The pot is already cooked, tags fixed, new admin getting familiar with us and vice versa.

Your speculation is probably spot on ... it was either Anonymous or that other dreadful bastard, Unknown. Those two guys always screw things up.

...........

The heart in a jar on my desk is much more empathetic than my own. Every once in a while, the empathetic vibrations from being in its proximity make me appear to have a heart of my own by showing my feelings.

. . . hate that when that happens.

It's good to see you old friend. I liked your comments about the forums

Or, we could just carry on and let new good threads happen without comparison to how it used to be. I have nostalgic feelings toward CollarChat for my own reasons, so I understand the sentiment, for sure. But making well-received posts or posters highlighted in some way would turn that post or poster into one endorsed by the site - or seemingly, anyway. Not something I'd like to see, personally. I think stickies or other special attention-getting posts should only be admin-written posts regarding rules. ...said the stick in the mud.

(Gentle kidding about to ensue.)

Are you telling me that you don't have just a little soft spot in your heart for some of the truly outstanding funny stuff that's been here over the years? Not even just a bit? Some trainwreck of a thread starters (and I don't mean the picture one) have been in a class all of their own. Tap, tap, tap is just as funny today as the first time and the crisps thread is still a quick fifteen minutes of hilarity.

(OK. I know that's not what you meant. Just trying to be funny.)

RS wrote the booklist thread. I was the person who recommended it to be a sticky several years back because it's a great resource. These days, there are more articles and such on the net. Still, you never know who would like one of those older books.

Rule posts? I agree with you. During any of the various Mod regimes, I've never been big on Admins putting information that members need in the middle of some thread, somewhere. In the course of this thread, I believe the new Admin said something about the ticket system not working right now. That's something that should be an Administrative Announcement post. Not buried in the middle of an Off Topic thread.

FAQs/Stickies? I'm half with you, half not. If the Administration writes any opinion based thread that is not the policy of the site, it's interpreted as standard of the site. That's not especially the best idea.

On the other hand, any individual poster could create any thread they wanted to and ask for contributions of good reference threads. If it's good, they can ask for a thread to be made a sticky if it is serving a purpose to be one.

By the way, new Mod-type person, if you are listening... You have a current inconsistency in the restored Ask A Mistress FAQ. The Professional Service section has been removed, so you might want to take it out of the reference thread.
