Thanks for your good wishes. I had been extremely sick since the 6th. Would have been in a hospital if it weren't for the good care and attention of my slave. We are both from medical backgrounds so I got the best care you could imagine. She is at the Rx right now. We had doctor switch out from amox to Z-pak because I wasn't recovering fast enough. Anyway... thanks for wishes. I am in good hands and will be back asap.

Ditto this. The sock trolls have been allowed to proliferate to the extent the hide button is no longer an effective tool to erase them all, and new ones are popping up like roaches. Too many now on hide. They aren't just annoying; they are ruining the forums more than all the past 3 years (all I know of) of drama.

I know moderating is volunteer and you have a life. When they asked me to moderate, I said I didn't have enough free time to do a good job of it. So I declined and left it for someone who did have the time.

You have my empathy... I hate coughing so hard it feels like you hack up and spit out a kidney. I hate the raging fever and sweating through more than 6 sets of clothes a day. I hate being so exhausted and sleep deprived that getting up to make a cup of tea leaves you winded, gasping for air and contemplating going to the hospital. This shit sucks.

I just learned something though. Being ab ex lab tech I already knew this but didn't put it together until the doctor told me today. PH affects bacteria... so drinking apple cider vinegar (1/4 cup a day) will help tip the scales in your favor and you will recover faster.


. . . on the other hand you could end up with:
-=Legionella=-
*18 days of coughing so hard I pulled muscles
*11 days coughing up so much fluid, pint/hr, I was dehydrated
* 5 times planned to go to hospital but finally caught my breath
*14 days on wrong antibiotics, wrong antibiotic injection
*2nd visit to doctor (today) he says my symptoms indicate I have rare antibiotic resistant pneumonia caused by species of Gram-negative aerobic bacteria belonging to the genus Legionella . . . Legionnaires' disease . . . fuck me.
. . . going on another Z-pak and now steroids too (for inflammation). I am getting better because I finally got some sleep for first time since the 5th.

Mothers hide your daughters... ResidentSadist is finally out of bed and going out into the world today.

I thought I was out of the woods last week, but HOLY SHIT was I surprised when the codeine wore off. The coughing fits had strained muscles in my chest so badly I couldn't stand up when the drugs wore off. I ended up back in bed........... arrrrggghhh! ! !

Healed up pretty good over the weekend. My chest is still wrapped up in ace bandages, but I am going out to buy office supplies and do some work. Might even stop to get some fast food. I want a Wendy's classic with cheese, a cup of chili and a Mello Yellow soda so bad I would sell my soul to the Devil for it.

You are such a sweetheart. Thank you for asking. I am finally mending nicely. Status: "wounded but functional" which is a thousand percent better than I was. I hope all bodes well for you at you end.
