Parents, grocery stores, zoos, workers, companies, etc. make mistakes. But one wrong move condemns an otherwise responsible parent, in your narrow estimation.

Just like Gretta, you are quite ready to nail to the wall and shoot them (parents) in the head as executioner, judge and jury coming after the fact.

Of course you expect responsible parents to grill the windows in their home (assuming that a landlord would allow family renters to do that).. what a stupid thing to do and in many places/cities putting grilles on the windows is illegal due to the fact that grilles cut off a way to escape in the case of an emergency, such as a home invasion or (more likely) a fire.. a person or child might have only seconds to escape a fire, especially due to the fact that today's homes have so many flammable materials allowing a fire to sweep thru extremely fast.. So your idea of what a responsible parent should do could endanger or kill the kid(s) instead... Its also dangerous for the firefighters who might get trapped inside the burning building as well, btw.. Good going there Greta..

I am surprise grills are illegal in some places. The kinda grills we have, easily open and close. Fire fighters will have no problem. But it wouldn't be easy for children to open. Gosh what kinda inflexible grills do they have over there? Modern design is so advance. Also, family who rents will have to rent child safety homes.

For us, grills are common sense child safety. Like, parents get condemned alot if they don't instill grills, and when their toddler falls out of the window, and dies, they will get alot of flak for being irresponsible fucks. And it still happens. After all, almost everybody here is saying, it just takes 2 minutes to look away and your toddler will get into some danger. It just takes 2 minutes for you to look away for your toddler to fall out a window. 80% of people in my country live in high rise apartments. IF they fall, they are dead. To not care is stupidity.

So, you are invested enough in this child's misfortune to find it amusing, but not invested enough to find it sad?
That makes no sense to me!

I think the focus are different. You guys are feeling terrified for the kid.
For me, I don't think about the kid at all. I am looking at it from how the consequences of doing this to the kid will affect the irresponsible parents, who's intentions were to punish the kid and now this is punishment gone wrong. The punishment gone wrong part amuses me, because I disapprove of their punishment.

[.sarcasm]Yay!! The kid is dead and it's the parents' fault!! Yay!! [/sarcasm]

"Where did you get the idea that I was advocating for more laws? I never said anything about laws. "

I might have used fast reply. Yes, you didn't call for more laws.

There is another facet to this that seems unexplored, willful misconduct by older kids. Like vandalism and stealing. There are people who call for laws making the Parents responsible for such things but I disagree.

Unless you can beat them, and by that I mean in a way that is painful but causes no permanent harm, let the government have that fucking problem. They used to have paddles in the schools and when the kids graduated they could at least read their diploma.

This whole thing against corporal punishment is bullshit. They understand a spanking. And if you got say a five year old runs out in the street in front of a car going 25 MPH, what is the proper response ? I say a severe paddling. And it is for their own good. See that curb, you stay on this side of it until further notice or I'll tan your ass again, and more.

But these days a simple paddling might bring CPS down on you and there goes a bunch of your rights as well as privacy.

And to go even more off on a tangent, but it applies, kids that turn their Parents in, forget them. I remember hearing about this girl who called the cops on her Parents for smoking pot. They got arrested and the kid put into a foster home, and was crying about it. Well you got what the fuck you deserve, traitor. People have no sense of family these days. It's understandable when you're older and hate some of your siblings but not the young.

I remember them in the schools burning something and saying "That is the smell of marijuana, if you smell it call the police". To kids. This is fucking wrong. Another thing that is fucking wrong is some of the shit they are teaching. Give then the original Bill Of Rights, one through ten and tell them to pick one to eliminate.

This whole society has gone to shit and it is mostly liberals who caused it. It seems like they think that to punish a kid all you have to do is make him stand in a corner. Well if you can't hit him or "assault" him in any way how the fuck do you enforce that ? You can't tie him up or put him in a cage. You can't refuse him dinner. All of that is considered abuse these days by these bleeding heart sickening MFs.

So OK, they'll put him in a cage later known as prison and Bubba will beat him until he learns how to give a good blowjob. See how much better that is ?

Anyway, sorry if you took that I took it that you said anything about more laws. The rest of my little rant was meant for consumption by the general public.

More like, a kid is dead because of the parent's malicious actions. I am laughing at the parents for getting their deserts. And to me, the kid is saved from abusive parents and is in a better place now.

"Those parents that left the 7yo in the forest as 'punishment' need horse-whipping. "

I would have to agree.

The gorilla incident though, I don't really know what to think.

So you kept your kids on kind of a leash eh ? I guess that works in some venues, ones that are particularly dangerous. But it probably isn't for everyone. The doors and windows locked effectively constitute a jail. And, what if there was a fire ?

But no matter this slight disagreement, because quite frankly I don't care if you just kill your kids (people used to be legally allowed to do that in some places). If you want to do that there must be a good reason because the worst thing to happen for a Parent is to outlive their kid(s).

The other thing is I am against zoos in the first place. I won't go to one, even for free, in fact even for pay. You put a bunch of animals in a jail that never did anything wrong. Imprisonment is a punishment.

Did the Japanese boy die?

The Sydney Morning Herald said he was found in good health.

OK, let's get this straight to determine the level of your insanity. In this case you are talking about the one left in the woods, not the zoo thing right ?

Religion is the opiate of the masses, when you die, you are DEAD. The Parents in this case, to cause the risk to the kid really feel nothing or else they never would have done it. Leaving a kid that young out in the wilderness should certainly qualify as abuse. It is different when the kid is raised in that type of area and it is practically the backyard, but I do not see that this was the case. I mean, if the kid is being bad and stubborn I can see not letting him in the house, but not dropping him off ten miles away or any shit like that.

Another thing, do these assholes have any other kids ? If so, they might be better off in foster care.

There we go. The 'zoo mom' didn't beat on the brat often enough, as it turns out.
Nothing like listening to the Ramones at full blast while imbibing beer, weed, and meth to instill good parental values, no?

quote:

The same liberals who taught us that the universe is only 6,000 years old, by your account, at the university, right?

Well then, back to the Ramones and meth snorting for good parental advice. Let's just go with what we got, here. Don't forget to put a gun in the brat's hand, as some dead and some survived moms would tell you after being shot by their kid. Just like you, I'm sure they wouldn't change a thing.

Well, maybe, they might. But only if they ever went to a college education, with liberal indoctrination, which means every last university in the US, no?

Understanding that I'm generously asking the question as if you would actually know from personal experience.

My sisters and brothers and I got the belt, got paddled, etc.

The college graduation rate was 67%. (thanks to me it took forever to get it to that target.)

The grandkids, or, my nephews and nieces, got whacked on the bum about three times, all total, never at school, and are at 67% college grads thusfar, with one in his third year, and the youngest brat of the lot having choice made and her being been accepted at three schools so far, which would bring it to ~80%.

So yeah, point proved. If you don't beat the crap out of the brat, they go off and do something stupid like go to the university.

Well,.. different countries, cities, areas do things differently.. (duh) The kind of grilles I have seen are either permanently fixed so they do not open at all or they do open but only with a key, but can you imagine freaking out cuz of a fire & fiddling with a key, dropping it, trying to find the key on the floor, possibly with smoke coming into the room? No way would i put grilles on windows (even if they have been improved since I looked at grilles), and as you admit that even the ones you have arent easy for a child to open if they need to get out.. But if everyone there lives in hi-rises then I guess ya might as well put grilles on the windows if you are up high since you are dead if there is a fire either way, jumping from the 10th floor window isnt gonna save you/your kids from a fire.

There are hi-rises here but this is a big country so a lot of people, especially those with kids, live in houses or low rise buildings so fire is a greater danger than falling out of a window is.. But there are so many risks to kids in their own home.. suffocation, drowning, poisons, etc..

Actually, here, the people that do put window grilles on do it to keep burglars out, not to keep kids from falling out of the window..

Didn't read the whole thing but the boy was found unharmed.
  • Yamato Tanooka, a 7-year-old boy missing for nearly a week in the northern Japan island of Hokkaido, has been found unharmed, Japanese officials said Friday.

And, just imagine, none of my sisters and brothers, nor nieces or nephews, came across the word that the entire university system was full on with the "6,000 yr. old universe" thing, that being a bedrock of "liberal thinking," right? Man, if only they (and we) had come upon you first.

  • Yea, I find it amazing that he was without food and water for 7 days and his fine, personally I think I would have died within 3 days. Good lesson for his parents anyway!

THIS, is exactly why such things need to happen to rock the damn nation!

the culture also is not as progressive in promoting the individual human rights of children, common in the West, traditionally viewing children almost as property of the family.

Abandonment and child abuse are far more common in Japan than the stereotype of the doting parent and stay-at-home mom would suggest.

But, my 9 yr. old (at the time) brother whacked my 5 yr. old (at the time) brother in the head with a mini-baseball bat one time.

Doesn't that count for anything, to the argument of parental and school spankings, for purpose of learning how to read? Even with help from older brother to that same cause? And all child beatings are for purpose of increasing reading ability, are they not?

I feel the need to point out here, that my 9 yr. old brother was at least a few years ahead of Joey Ramone in terms of proper child guidance.

(Actually, even though The Ramones are all dead now, my 'older younger brother' might have been the same age as Joey Ramone {not gonna look it up, sorry}. But he's still alive, and still cries sometimes over that incident a billion years ago.)
