I think what stef is getting at is that it is very difficult in a stressful situation to hit anything other than the centre of mass, even for a highly trained professional. When things get that bad, you're about half as good as your worst range day.

Yea, but when unarmed people are getting killed. Fair enough if the other party was armed. Shoot them dead. But when unarmed people get shot, they should just end up in a fist fight, rather than attempt to spray bullets at them.

And just because you don't see a weapon doesn't mean he doesn't have one.

No, that's not it. Aside from vital organs, the body has this quirk of having all these little pipes inside called arteries that carry blood from the heart to all the extremities. Shooting any part of the body risks hitting an artery and causing rapid exsanguination.

Anyone who claims they can shoot person and not risk hitting an artery is either an idiot or woefully ignorant. The same can be said of anyone who espouses such a tactic.

Anyway, the whole solution to this whole problem is still! Send black cops to handle black people! White cops, do not approach black people! Problem solved. No racism accusation! No questions about bias treatment. Always patrol in pairs, one black and one white cop, so if there is a black person situation, get the black cop to deal with it, while the white cop can call for more black cops back up if needed.

Personally, it's a practical solution. End of the day, there is just too much bad history, so seeing a white dude shoot up a black dude is always gonna incite unnecessary anger in the black community. Not worth the war.

Status: offline 		I just watched the castille video that his wife or girlfriend took.
The Policeman sounded panicky and agitated! Wow! Is he fit to be police?

I think all policemen should be forced to carry chest cameras so all their actions are accounted for.

The only thing is that, he claim he asked castille to show him his hands, and not to take out his license. But he disobeyed and took out his license anyway! So the police shot thinking his drawing a gun, plus it's after he admitted he had a gun.

But the police clearly was in sheer panic and not calm at all. I don't think he was psychologically appropriate to be a law enforcement officer.

I mean, in comparison, the girlfriend had her husband/boyfriend shot dead infront of her and she is so calm, very very calm. She might be more suited to be a police officer.

Personally, that police man is not suited for his career! I don't like his panicky personality. He'll make bad decisions like this one he just made. Even if his not found to be guilty, they should kick him out of the force.

For those not familiar with my experience before I retired I used to testify for the Gov as a Use of Force Expert in State and Federal Courts. Not knowing what happened before or everything the officers knew when they showed up, it is not possible to give a completely accurate assessment of this case. However, from what I see and what I do know there appears to be lots of justification for this deadly force shooting and it seems reasonable under the circumstances known. Of course with more information my opinion could change.

The falacy of that opinion is proved in a firefight.
The falacy is that cops, in general cannot shoot very well.
The falacy is that by shooting for com, the number of witnesses is reduced.
The falacy is that in most cases there was no need for a gunfight.
The falacy is that "I was skierd" seems to be the univrsal "cop" out.

K, The problem I have with the police actions is this: The cops are trained to protect themselves. They are on call to a man with a gun. They get close enough to taze him and body tackle him. That seems pretty stupid. Why did they not shield themselves with their vehicle and call for backup. Sterling was not showing his gun. It was in his pocket. Out of sight. But their info was he had a gun. So, they confront him just several feet away without their guns drawn? WTF? They play hooky from police academy?
