1) Can't trust their Police, their Police can't even protect themselves now
2) Can't trust authority to not turn on them
3) Can't control their borders, regulating bad guys from access to guns is very very hard
4) Some places actually needs to hunt for food for survival (this is alien to me, but I do live in a city all my life)

Until they fix all the problems above, then they can get rid of guns.

5) Thinning of the herds to protect them from starving to death. (I personally believe this should accompany when the food is eaten)

So remind me: which tyrannical united states government has been deposed by an armed population since the declaration of independence?
I always find it a bit odd that one gets used as a justification given that most of the people who whine about unconstitutional/unelected governments won't even leave the country in a snit, never mind do anything about a president shitting on the constitution and wiping his arse with the bill of rights afterwards.

They do not need them. I think I said before I am done in these types of threads, lest they get out of hand. I wouldn't even give them feather dusters: perhaps some marshmallows (oi no sticks).
Tis a strange thing to ponder, today, on a splitting new thread...there is often a reasoning for such ponderings and wonderings.

Guns kill – to take a leaf out of whatshisname, Occam's razor

Today in the UK Spalding shooting: Three shot dead near swimming pool (family tragedy whatever that means - it usually means one was a fuking nutter who shouldn't be allowed guns, no-one should. Save the appropriate law enforcement agencys...hmm think I found some figures for police v criminal.

Ever wonder why the Liberals/Leftists/etc haven't called for a Convention of the States so they can repeal the 2nd Amendment?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution

There are several versions of the text of the Second Amendment, each with capitalization or punctuation differences. Differences exist between the drafted and ratified copies, the signed copies on display, and various published transcriptions.[17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24] The importance (or lack thereof) of these differences has been the source of debate regarding the meaning and interpretation of the amendment, particularly regarding the importance of the prefatory clause.[25][26]

One version was passed by the Congress, and a slightly different version was ratified.[27][28][29][30][31] As passed by the Congress and preserved in the National Archives, with the rest of the original hand-written copy of the Bill of Rights prepared by scribe William Lambert, the amendment says:[32]

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Here is the amendment as ratified by the States and authenticated by Thomas Jefferson, then-Secretary of State:[33]
A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

How many of you actually knew that - yes I had to look it up get the concise quotes (plural)

what does it mean? In plain english

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
There's too many nutters/rednecks in the US; the stats prove that time and again.

Don't have gun free zones; as has been said already, criminals don't read signs.
Make the whole country, coast-to-coast, border-to-border, a gun free zone for all public places.
Get caught with a firearm in public - $500 fine, gun & ammo destroyed, license (if they had one) revoked.
Second offense, double the fine and 3 months incarceration with no parole.
Further infringements, double the penalty.
It's a very simple law: no guns in a public place.
That way, it doesn't infringe on your rights to own a gun and doesn't stop hunting or pleasure shooting in approved places.

We can have guns just like the US.
However, our society, bad as it is, have generally decided we are better off without them.
The same for Australia and many other civilized countries.

Libs constantly piss and moan about Americans having guns. Guns are used for personal protection. The police a get there AFTER a crime has already been committed, not while the crime is in progress. So when you are staring down the barrel of a gun and only have seconds to live, the police are minutes away.

But in the wake of the past few weeks events, when is the leftists going to start a movement on "truck" control? Are we going to need background checks before we can drive one? How many lives could have been saved if ONE person with a gun could have shot out a tire or two?

And now I hear that in Germany a man killed people with a knife. Are we going to have "knife control?"

My point is clear. The world is full of bad people who do bad things. Having a gun gives you a fighting chance to protect yourself from the bad guys. It's just that simple.

I am not putting words in anyone's mouth. I haven't heard of any tho. Doesn't mean they aren't out there.

Why do we never hear about people who have successfully defended themselves with their guns?

The first was a protest against an unfavorable tax. The Federal Government did not attack until provoked. Then Geo Washington smitted mightily.

The second was as you know for the sake of owning other humans. The United States did not form up its reserves until the Federal fort at Charlestown was besieged. In which case did the Feds act as tyrannical governments?

The point that you and other gun nuts can't seem to grasp is that if, in general, the populace don't have guns, your assailant is also not likely to have guns either.
In other words, you wouldn't be staring down the barrel of a gun in most situations.

Don't you have that already??
Aren't you supposed to have had proper training and obtained a license to drive before you are allowed on the road?
Or do you also get your licenses from the local Chinese fortune cookies?

How many lives could have been saved if ONE person with a gun could have shot out a tire or two?

And how many times do we see this argument put forward as a reason for having guns?
And where the fuck are they when this sort of thing goes down??
Fucking nowhere! Not a decent law-abiding gun-owning citizen to be seen.
It's a farcical and useless argument.

In most civilized countries that have decent gun laws also have knife laws too.
Don't you have them??

The point is clear; if you didn't have guns in public places, people wouldn't get shot.
That's pretty simple to understand. No?

I think in both cases they thhought that the govt was being tyrianical in the policies and went out to get rid of it thru the force of arms.

Yep. Especially when the demons in your head tell you that the gays dancing at the local bar are bad, or the cops on the street are bad and need to be eradicated in as high a number as possible. That's when a nice semi-auto assault rifle or two comes in handy, yes sireee.

Nope,
haven't wondered about that because any idiot knows you do not convene a convention to nullify an amendment. You pass a contravening amendment.

Convening a convention runs the risk of changing the whole freakin government.
