So it was a "combination of many reasons", none of which were explained at all. This is what generated so much suspicion and mistrust. There still remains no actual explanation of why this entire crisis, and subsequent change in policy occurred. Apparently, their concept of how to make Fetlife better is entirely about who can join, and seems to have little to do with fixing bugs, making features that are useful and actually work, or improving overall site performance.
