I just got a new car in May.
It's a 2006 Mercury Gran Marquis "LS" model.
Loaded, leather seats, power everything, the works. It's a light gray color they call "Stone Mist".
I like that "luxury car ride" and it surely fits the bill there, you float over bumps. I get about 20 mpg around town with it and 27 mpg on the highway.
I had a 2002 Ford F-150 "King Ranch" four door truck that I traded in. It was "loaded" as well, even had a power moonroof and the color was "Chestnut", a cross between dark brown and maroon. I guess Ford likes fancy names for their colors.
The truck was a pig on gas! I was lucky to get 12 mpg around town here and maybe 16 on the highway. It weighed 5,000 lbs and had the 5.4 liter engine with 260 HP.
I needed it when I lived in New Hampshire because you need a truck when you live in the country for all kinds of things. They didn't pick up the trash in the town I lived in so everyone had to take it to the dump.
When I got my dump sticker/permit at the town hall the lady corrected me; "We don't call it the "Dump" we call it "the recycling center!"
I said to her; "Well that's quaint but it SMELLS like "The Dump" to me!" She frowned at me and gave me a sticker!
And, I lived in the foothills of the White Mountains so I needed the four wheel drive to get up the hill to my house in the snow.
Now that I live in Myrtle Beach I just don't need a truck anymore.
I love the car but still miss the truck.
So what do you drive and why?

hehehe....my first car was a 1991 Pontiac 6000 LE...that was in 2001. Now I have since upgraded to a 2000 Toyota Camry XLE, sunroof, 5 cd changer, leather seats, alloy wheels, and the whole shenanigan.

I put in alot and I mean ALOT of miles. The daily commute car is a black 2003 Chevy Prizm (aka Toyota Corolla in desguise) it is paid for and has 171,000 miles on it. It has the necesssary accessories and a few that are not. Necessary being a decent CD player so I can dance down the freeway, air conditioning and cruise control. Un being.....automatic. I love manual transmissions, call me crazy. My baby is a pale golden silver (I think they called it Driftwood) 1997 Dodge Ram 4x4 extended cab with alllllllllllllll the whistles and bells I could get on it at the time. It has only 67,000ish miles on it and makes the guy that services it for me jealous. I love that truck. Obviously, I do not drive it alot. The gas would kill me. But when the snow gets deep or horses need hauled the big girl gets to come out and play. It has been paid for for years and I just love not having any car payments right now.

edited to add........My favourite mode of transportation has 4 legs and eats alot of hay and grain and has expensive pedicure bills.

I have a 97 Jimmy that is beginning to do the same thing to me. As a matter of fact it is staring at me from the drive and begging me to replace the radiator.

I drive Master's 2003 electric blue PT Cruiser, unless I have to take the dogs somewhere.  They ride in the 1995 Prizm.  And Master's got a 1987 Cavalier Z24 (or something like that) with less than 40,000 original miles.  It doesn't get driven unless it's just to the store and back once in a great while, just to keep the battery charged.

Everyday driving is the ole farm truck Betsy...a 1991 Dodge Dakota with what appears to be advanced and last stage leporosy. She is an ole piggy truck but I converted it to propane so at least I can afford to keep it on the road. What wth gas having hit $4.89 a gallon here this past weekend. In the shed is my pride and joy a 1957 Thunderbird, fully loaded and mint with two boxes of eight tracks to go with. *grins*

I think the Blazer and the Jimmy are very close. You may want to replace the fuse first. The fuse box should be under a square cover on the left side of your dash...you can see it when you open the drivers door. The fuse should be the second yellow one in on the left in the top row. Just went through this myself.

1986 silver T-top camaro- with only 500 miles on it- because after those 500 miles, i got my permit suspended for five years- apparently, they don't like you going over 100 mph in a 45 zone ::blush:: good news though- only two more years that i can't drive! bwahahaha
