ORIGINAL: WinsomeDefiance Well, they have come out with some pretty awesome targets. I like the Zombie ones, myself. I also like the dangling plastic bottle targets, although I haven't tried them yet. I know you shoot .22's a lot. On ebay, you can find nice metal targets that clang and fall over for relatively cheap prices. I think I paid something like $40 for six target made from steel that will stand up to any round going under 3,000 fps. The bottles puncture and become trash to be picked up after one shot. I do use a plastic bottle when I'm teaching new shooters gun safety. I remind them humans are mostly water and then show them what a bullet does to mostly water. It's always a stark lesson. The metal target are about six inches high, in silhouette shape. Putting them out at 50 or 100 yards and plink them with a .22 is pretty fun. And they can be set back up indefinitely. Thanks! Kay and I are looking into joining a Gunsportsmans Club with an outdoor range. I'm not sure if they provide targets, so I'll definitely be checking out EBay. Most, if not all, gun clubs I've seen sell targets. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want/let you take metal reactive targets for fear of bulletin ricochet. Although I've shot steel targets at gun clubs. So ask if it's allowed where you're going to shoot before you buy. I use them here. My range is on my front porch however.
