IB, I can see why they would offend you. They offended me at first, too. Then I realized that it's true to some extent, and it's pretty damned funny. If we don't have the ability to laugh at ourselves, we've lost something important. Then again, it seems I've met more unknowledgeable Wiccans (what was it we were calling them before? Wicclets? That's it!) than you have. I used to be up to my ears in Wicclets that swore they were practicing the exact same rituals in the exact same way with the exact same implements as their 2,000 year old counterparts in Ireland. I tend to laugh at them. I try not to, but sometimes it just slips out. Do certain versions of Wicca have roots in ancient practices? Yes. Do we know that what we're doing is spot on? Not a chance. Too much changes. So I simply choose to laugh at something that others choose to fight. By fighting it we're making it bigger and more ominous than it really needs to be. Laughter makes it smaller and less threatening. If you still find it offensive, it's your choice and I respect that.
