This topic sure does come up a lot.  I can understand overweight people getting upset.  It's NOT easy to lose weight and it sucks major ass when you get sh*t on by everyone because you're overweight.  I topped out at 142 in high school, and for someone my size that's a little on the big side.  I was a size 14 and picked on a lot.

I'm a size 6 now with about 10 pounds and a dress size to go before I reach my 'ideal' of 118 pounds and size 4.  And guess what?  I still don't like my appearance.  Sometimes it isn't the size that matters but the mindset.

Now, that said, I do agree that being overweight is a health risk.  I know when I was heavier I was depressed and lacked energy.  I hated it.  Pup is working to lose 100 pounds because his back can't handle his weight and his dad was recently in the hospital getting quadrupal bypass surgery.  He doesn't want to strain his heart and take more risks than he has to (genetics).  I think those are good reasons to work at it.

I don't go around picking on overweight people, whether they're male or female.  But I won't say that I don't privately have concern for their well-being.  I need an active lifestyle to be happy - that's me.  Others don't feel that way, and I understand that.

Why harp on weight?  Yes, it's a health problem or at least a potential one, but picking on someone never helps.  If you want to bash someone, go after the jackasses that are busy flinging names and hurting people.

Just my $0.02

p.s. - I've just gotten back on the workout band wagon myself as of yesterday.  20 minutes of pilates and every upperbody move I could think of with 5 pound weights.  My muscles are stiff today, LOL.  I'll be giving my upper body a break from the weights and doing the 40 minute pilate workout today.  I'm hoping to see good results by the new year.  Here's to hope!

zuma, you have a lot of nerve making a serious post on this subject *grins and hugs ya*.

Pilates is tough, isn't it? Stay with it, you can do it. [;)]

Well first off as a slave i was a chubby chaser...and yes i am BBW! i love extra meat on a man [:D]  However my Master is about 5 10 and weighted only 145 when i met him..since then i have put 30 pounds on him.  He sometimes get angry about his size.  But he was so thin as a BBW i thouhgt i was going to break him!  see just people in general W/we all come in different shapes and sizes.  Also, W/we are attracted to different shapes and sizes.  i hate it, when a Dom says to a slave you need to go on a diet, or lose weight.  Because that can lead to eating disorders, and unhealthy way of living.  Also, i have had issues from skinnny sub/slaves telling me to lose weight..i just sit back and laugh....when i was their age yes i had a great body but that was like 5 kids and 20 years ago!

I'm of the mindset that people are entitled to like what they desire. Weight is only one of the many criteria that is utilized to qualify or disqualify someone from consideration. The same bias exists in regard to education, ethnicity, background, career, etc. However, when these things are employed you rarely see as much dissension.

If the dominant is making a valiant attempt to control the submissive's weight for health reasons that is completely understandable. It would be foolhardy for the submissive to assume the topic will never be broached, and somewhat naive of the dominant to believe he can inspire her to change her habits. Weight is a very personal issue and medical complications might be a factor that has to be understood and addressed.

I have taken control of my health and improved my lifestyle and eating habits. I've experienced the opposite and had partners insist that I eat more which was very disconcerting. They were content with being out of shape and could not understand my desire to change. The experience provided a good lesson and now I find myself gravitating towards those that are committed to good health. I welcome the extra push and encouragement that the dominant provides.

<grinz broadly>  Good morning, Level, Sir...

So tell me gang...what IS BBW?  I'm 5' 8" and a size 14.  I could stand to loose 30 pounds, but probably not more.  With big breasts...I'm built like the venerable brick pagoda; but...am I BBW?  It's amazing to me how we 'see' ourselves sometimes...I was surprised to hear I'm probably not...  Tell ya what though, if I had an extra $10K layin' around...I'd be wearing a much smaller bra!

Edited to add:

Regarding heavy guys...I prefer 'em.  I remember once, long ago, feeling my hipbones knock with the guy above me and visions of our pelvises getting locked together like a couple of rutting elk kept going through my head.  I finally put my hands between us, just to keep from chipping a bone.  Yup…give me a guy with meat on his bones!!!  Yuummieeeeeeeeeeee

Usual suspects? Oh, please,  forgive us all for reacting to the bullshit.

What a stupid comment.

KOM is correct, fat threads are a waste of time.

And evidently, so are some fat people.[&:]

Even without seeing your photo, it is more than evident what an ugly person you are.

popeye1250 -> RE: Overweight Male Doms (8/13/2006 9:40:58 AM)

Zuma, good for you!
The trainer at the gym told me to lift weights only every other day as after lifting weights the body "builds muscle for 48 hours afterwards."
You may feel sore for a few days but that's normal.
After a week or so the soreness will go away and you'll start to feel stronger and can maybe increase the amount of weight you lift or increase the amount of repititions.
And she told me to do "2 to 3 repititions" of the weight lifting excercises. I use about 12 different machines in my cycle so after I finish up on the last machine I start over with the first machine and do them all again for "2 reps."
Good girl, Zuma! Keep at it and encourage Pup to keep at it too!

I'm not at all sure what makes a BBW....  all I know is what I like, and though I tend towards an "average" sized woman, there are quite a few full-figured women that absolutely make me drool. I would expect a submissive to eat well, and exercise, just as I do. She doesn't have to look like a fitness model.

And you should have some mail here shortly, beverly [;)].

popeye1250 -> RE: Overweight Male Doms (8/13/2006 10:07:28 AM)

Corsetgirl, thankyou. I try to keep my posts on this subject upbeat and encouraging!
And no it's Not easy to lose weight. The guy at my gym who used to weigh 350 lbs last year and is now down to 228 did a lot of work to lose that weight!
He told me once, "I'll NEVER go back to being the way I was. I really like myself the way I am now!"
And as I mentioned in the other post he told me that it was not only his hard work but the "Encouragement" of all the professional trainers and other members at the gym who cheered him on.
And he looks Great! You'd hardly recognise him from March of '05!
Hey! Maybe we should start another thread that "ENCOURAGES" people in here who are trying to lose weight and get back into shape!
Like the saying goes "you catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar."
I don't think it does any good to insult people over their weight problem. *Encouragement* really does a lot more good as witnessed by that guy in my gym!
And yes, the endorhin rush after excercising does feel good, doesn't it? I feel great when I get home and jump into the shower after working out for two hours at the gym!

LeMis -> RE: Overweight Male Doms (8/13/2006 10:44:19 AM)

<<what IS BBW?>>

I think that "BBW" is in the eye of the beholder (kind of like beauty is).
Some may think that size 16 and up/150 pounds + is a BBW.
Then take into account the height factor and muscle ratio, etc.... then before you know it, that person is not considered a BBW afterall.

This is what I think about labels    [:'(] , LOL!

I am working at dropping a size or so PLUS some weight, wiser food choices (PLUS water) AND exercise is the key for me.

Yes, you'd be surprised at the power of encouragement!
I belong to a fitness/exercise group and they make a positive impact on my life w/ their encouragement and positive support (they got me to turn my "catch-all" clothes hanger BACK into a treadmill, LOL).

I love my treadmill and forgot just how much, now I will be looking to add a bit of weight training to my routine (every other day so muscles have a change to repair & recoup).

popeye1250 -> RE: Overweight Male Doms (8/13/2006 10:55:24 AM)

Le Mis, yes encouragement really does help for anyone trying to get in shape or lose weight!
And I find that making excercise "fun" and setting goals for myself works too.
