unfortunate facts... in the US: 1 out of every 10 women will be forced to have sex before the age of 21... of those women, 3 out of ten will be killed by the rapist... 1/10 x 3/10 = 3/100 3% of all women will be killed before the age of 21, by a rapist. I think that would make it deadlier for teens than drinking and driving. and that surprises you, why? The numbers I quote are publicly available from government sources. 3% is correct... that number should not surprize anyone... unless the victim is under the age of 13, most 'Reputable' news agencies will not report it as newsworthy. Rape - murder in the US has risen 9000% since the 70's... NINE THOUSAND PERCENT... and the 'Look at me I'm a Superhero' media doesn't think it's news worthy... quote:

Missing persons in the US: 1,760,000 persons are reported missing every year... 5 of every 7 missing persons is female... 20% of missing persons are never heard from ever again... over 350,000 missing persons per year is approximately 100 people for every county in every state in the US... PER YEAR... on average... 7 people, 5 of them women... will be missing within a 20 mile radius of YOU over the next 5 years... That means that 1/1000 of the American population goes missing per year, never to be seen again. I think someone is just selling cloaks of invisibility. With the US population on the rise and now at nearly 2 billion people, again, a factual number... most people can put about 120 to 140 faces to names when it comes to people they know or know of... these are our friends and relations, political figures and people in the media... Chances are that in any ten year period, one person that you know or know of will go missing, and never be heard from again. quote:

The FBI does not readily publish this number unless it is requested under the sunshine act, however: The FBI's estimated total number of Mass Murderers at large inside the United States at any one time is over 8,000 ... that is two mass murderers for evey county in every state in the union... Define mass murderer, please! I don't have to, the FBI defines it in the document. A Mass Murderer is any person who in thier lifetime have unlawfully ended the life of at least 2 other persons, but not more than 4 other persons... a Serial Killer is a person who has unlawfully ended the life of 5 or more persons... The numbers reflected in the FBI report do not include soldiers who have acted according to the rules of engagement under combat conditions. quote:
Don't get me wrong, I agree with you on the whole. But using random numbers as statistics kinda undermines your argument, non? Yours, benji The numbers are not random, they are real. Making fun of them wont make them go away. Ignoreing them wont make them go away. The world is a danger filled place. If you want to stick your head in the sand, fine.... go ahead and be a victim... but dont drag others who might want to know, down with you. As far as my comments about 9/11 go, the orriginal poster brought up the point about the laws that are in place, regarding the activities of preditors... I thought 9/11 was a point everyone could understand... a common ground, if you will... my point was not meant to be overtly patriotic or condemning... simply a statement of fact: Laws are not in place to PREVENT the crimes. Laws are in place to punish AFTER the crimes. -Mez
