I learned this lesson a long time ago, living with a verbally abusive dad. NEVER argue with the self-righteous or those who already know it all. You can never win or convince those people of anything. I don't consider myself too proud to learn... indeed, I am always seeking more information and running my viewpoint against what I learn to see if I've missed something. Indeed, chaingang makes some EXCELLENT points (although I think that is in another thread) that really have me thinking hard... and yet, when I look at what would happen in Iraq in the case of complete US withdrawal of forces, when I look at it in cost of lives and pain and suffering, I cannot bring myself to support immediate withdrawal. What is the solution? I don't know... but I DO know this. If there WERE a solution to be found that would allow Iraq to settle into peaceful social and economic stability, our government would not permit it, because the kind of government that would support that stability would necessarily be anti-American. So we're back at the big question....what IS the solution? quote:
ORIGINAL: sissifytoserve LM.... You shouldn't have to cite your sources. Sometimes I do if its a really heated argument...but, its up to HER...to prove you wrong.
