Status: offline 		Well, My opinion on it is that the readings are written in such a way that they can be equally applicable to a horse's penis if you read them a certain way.  It is kind of like these so called "fortune tellers" or "psychics".  I find that I can read My wife's horoscope in such a way that it applies to Me as well, and she is a much different sign than I am.

I know that there is quite possibly some weight in cosmology.  After all, it has been studied and "worshipped" for millenia, with temples and pyramids built around the study...  But I do not really think that it has the weight that wannabe "astrologers" try to put on it, simply for the fact that I have never seen any concrete proof of it.

Status: offline 		I stopped believing in the acuracy of Astrology when I learned that my grandmother and I shared the same sign.  She and I were abosultly nothing alike, yet our readings were the same.

Status: offline 		As far as Iam concerned....it should be of a very personal nature when using astrology and Tarot.

If you do get a reading from someone else.....it is extremely rare to find someone true to the practice, honest and not a charlatan.

I do my own readings and have always been blown away by the results as long as I set it up with patience and the right intent.

Um....

It doesn't matter if you are the same sign.

You are going to get different readings regardless.....you are two different human beings.

There is an INNER zodiac...not just an external one.

Status: offline 		I once was at a Tolkien-convention. A girl there had drawn Tarot cards in a Lord of the Rings version on pieces of paper. I witnessed her laying down this suite and interpreting it for someone else. What struck me, was the response this evoked in the other person: he bared his soul completely. At that moment I realised that laying down the Tarot - and by inference reading hand palms or tea leaves or looking into a crystal ball or making an astrology chart - in the able hands of an observant person, is an extremely powerful psycho-analytical tool. Never mind what is being predicted: that is merely the icing on the cake. If I were a psychologist or counselor, I would study and utilize the Tarot.

Status: offline 		The Tarot are archetypes, this has been understood by practioners for quite awhile. I have a couple of different decks. I do not believe I can divine the future, but the symbols are archetypes that I have fun with because it is a mental exercise into my own psyche. They have been a muse to me in my creative writings.

Status: offline 		Along the same vein as the current discussion, consider this:  The Bible contains a wealth of stories that are effective observations of human nature, and additionally some analysis regarding how to live "well" under those observed conditions.  Kill your neighbor, neighbor's brother comes to kill you.  Covet your neigbors wife, he might castrate you.  Therefore, don't do these things if you value your manhood or life.  Pretty simple.

Does the fact that an astrology reading can be read MANY ways invalidate the observations about human nature already present in the reading?  Does the fact that it is presented as augury of sorts make it less valid than Carl Jung's explorations on archetypes?  Because it is explained differently, are the conclusions so vastly different?  Are not people often similar in action and consequence to other people?  Yet they are different too - why should predictions be so much more immutable than the changeable people making those predictions and about whom such predictions are made?

Is there not value in such observations that are quite old, especially where people really haven't changed all that much since ancient times?

The people that I attract online are either Aries or Sagittarius guys but unfortunately, they don't last very long.  My ex is also an Aries, he and I get along very well...probably is the only person who does understand my little quirks far more than I understand myself...lol.

Status: offline 		Well read anything on a cancer.  I admit I can be moody and I blame the moon for that.  Oops, that's right the moon rules us.  Lemme open my mouth and insert my foot.  Thankfully the moodiness is once a month around that time.  But a couple midol works wonders.  Anyways I don't exactly fit my sign.  Obviously all the signs I should get along with in a relationship I don't.  Cancers are moody and me being one, well me is enough cancer in a relationship.  Scorpios are usually pretty good, but please keep your pants on and the porn out of sight of the guests.  Not saying all scorpios are like that, but my roomie was.  Pisces tend to make good friends.  I have several, but after the one I dated I said never again.  Many are very emotional and got their heads in the clouds.  Don't get me wrong, I don't mind cuddling and dinner cooked for me, but no roses and candles please.  Not to mention the one I dated lied about being married.  But here's the thing.  I dated a gemini for over a year.  Ended with a violent fight.  Yes it worked as long as we had space to ourselves too.  It was some bad choices and friends that killed it.  But that is the past and I have moved on.  Now I'm dating an aquarius.  According to several books I have, that is the worst match next to gemini.  Guess what.  Its in the closet.  I'll take my chances with this one.  So far so good.  But then I forgot to read up on aquarius and well got to know this cutie with the nice ass.  What I have learned about him is he loves to laugh and can't stand being unhappy.  In fact if I'm in a bad mood he will tickle me.  He loves adventure books and well exploring.  Hey fine by me, just involve me.  Yes I have had birthcharts done for my family.  Most are pretty accurate and well they are sitting in the closet.  I enjoy the little surprises that each person has.  I see life as an adventure and worth all the surprises.

I wish I knew corsetgirl, but it seems like all the Aries men in the world seek me out..lol.....with Aries men there is alot of passion, but things seem to fizzle out after that....where is my Cancer, Capricorn or Taurus men?

On one level yes. You wouldnt believe some of the stuff people have told me just because I read runes for them. On another level, there is something in it. Honest. We can read the runes wrongly, but the runes themselves are never wrong.

Status: offline 		Go read up on Gödel's incompleteness theorem.  It gives some clues on this subject.  And is a fun thought in itself.

Status: offline 		My favorite astrology books, after reading all the cute ones, are "How to spot a bastard by his star sign" by Adele Lang, and "Born on a rotten day" by Hazel Dixon-Cooper, and they are definitely not all cutesy there...  They are incredibly funny, and often right on.   The up side is everyone is a bastard, and everyone is rotten in his/her own way.   M
