What was your first concert to see? Any memories of it, lol?

Mine was in 1979, I believe, the Pat Travers Band opened (doing new songs like "Crash and Burn", and "Snortin' Whiskey"), and Rainbow headlined. Both bands were terrific, the only glitch coming when Rainbow founder Ritchie Blackmore broke a couple of strings on his guitar, and there was trouble getting things lined out; you could see him getting extremely pissed.

Leaving the venue, my ears rang like never before... but I could still hear myself yelling "Oh shit!!" when we got to my car to find my stereo stolen.

Alanis Morissette, May, 2002 (I was 22 before my first concert, can you believe it?)

It was very awesome, I went with my freshman roommate as a last bash before I graduated.  I got a great t-shirt that my mom ruined in the laundry.

Since then, thanks mostly to my partner, I've gone to quite a many more and plan to continue.

Level42? Their "Something About You" is a terrific song.

Course, I have screaming girlies around me all the time, too. *laughing*

Very cool, LA. (Don't feel bad about the 22 thing, I didn't lose my freaking virginity until 21! lol)

Hey, have you guys found the Austin music scene of interest?

That's kinda like asking if we know there's political stuff going on in Washington DC?

My partner is an ex-Austinite returned and a huge music guy, so he's been very glad to get back into it.  I got him tickets to the ACL Fest as an anniversary gift this past September.  They don't get all the best headliners here (ie we got the Stones, Houston got The Who) but it's enough to keep us happy.

My fisrt concert was Jackson Browne's Running on empty tour back in 1977 at the University of Dayton Arena. It was great. Karla Bonoff was the opening act. David Lindley was in the band and he was awesome. It was the only concert I ever attended in my home state.

I am a late bloomer when it comes to concerts. My first was Alanis Morrisette on Brandeis Campus in 1996 i think.  And it was severely less than impressive.  The only other one I have ever been to was RUSH about 3 years ago in PA.

Hopefully, moving to Nashville and having a pet that is a music junkie, I will have a chance to see a lot more concerts in the future.

1983, David Bowie, the 'Serious Moonlight Tour' at the Montreal Forum the day after my 16th birthday.  Two encores ending off with 'Modern Love' which was recorded and issued as the b-side of the studio recording.  It was an amazing show.

Me and a friend gave some thought to going there for the Stones, but money is just too tight right now. Hell, I even passed up a faux Foreigner show here (no Lou Gramm!).

I would love to see Browne, I'm a big fan of his.

I bet you will, DV. Ya'll have the Ryman Auditorium, where Neil Young shot his "Heart of Gold" concert video.

I bet that was amazing, stef. The thin pale duke is another on my list of "need to see" shows.

John Mayall. Turning Point concert, November 1969. I was 14 and the girl I was with was also14, that night we smoked our first joint and indulged in a lot of heavy petting. We both broke our duck on my birthday a little over two months later. Thanks for the memories J. wherever you are now.
