I have had this happen too, like they think we tall gals are misrepresenting our hieght too. I wonder if some of them are delusional about their actual height if they are within two inches of the mark, or if they just out right lied. Height is one of the few physical criteria I have for men, and it is disconcerting showing up to meet someone you think is only an inch shorter and they are actually like 5 inches shorter than myself. I will date men I am attracted to that are slightly shorter, but not half a foot. If that makes me shallow, then I am shallow.

Has anyone considered that men who are stating they are a couple of inches taller than they are in real life may be dealing with osteoporesis, the same thing that shortens women's height? Depending on their age it may be a factor to be considered. Granted, the men should be going in for physicals and having their height charted, but how many men do that? I know at least one man who met me and determined that he'd lost a couple of inches he wasn't aware of. In his case, I'd say he was telling the truth about not being aware of losing the height because he just hasn't bothered to have his height charted in 30+ years. Guys tend to forget that things change....

As my mom suffers from this condition, it usually has not shaved several inches off the height of a man in his early 40s or late 30s. Even if it did, I know my mom noticed that she lost a couple of inches off her stature. She cannot walk upright due to the severity of her condition. I am thinking if someone lost that much height they would be in a great deal of pain like my mom is.

I am also a Big Girl so I get mine from Lane Bryant, they have talls. My sister who is 6'2 and wears a size 12 go some brand, of jean, I can't remember what they are but if you write me on collarme, I will find out and let you know. The women in my family have LEGS for DAYS....

I actually buy my Levi's low rider jeans from Walmart. They come in "Long" and are just the right length for me and I can wear them with a low heel if I choose, and they're just under $20 a pair, so that's nice! They also have other pants in tall sizes, but you hafta search for them.

If you wear a size 14 or larger, Lane Bryant has tall sizes in some styles of pants and JCPenney's catalog carries tall sizes in many of their pants, skirts and shirts. I also have a problem finding long sleeve shirts whose sleeves are long enough.

To juliaoceania: It took me years to accept being the "the tall chick", but I still prefer being with a guy who's at least close to my height, but preferably taller, so I understand where you're coming from!

I really don't know if these guys are out and out lying about their height, or if they really believe they're that tall...

If it's just a misconception of their actual height on their part, they get a rude awakening when they meet me. LOL!

The last "submissive" man I met from collarme stated he was 6'1".
He could not have been more than 5'8". We did not go out again.

I don't know if I have had anyone outwardly lie to me, and I have not had anyone admit to a lie. What I find (and a tad off topic) is when I am not told the full truth of a situation and hence only left to make a decision on a partial picture. And the other which is not a lie is that the one I am talking to is not clearly in sync with the role as a Dominant/Master and attempts to load their idealology on me, which is so far out there even as a novice submissive knows better. So really not lies per sa as this question of the OP but certainly questionable behaviours imo.

One told me that he figured he'd get to know me and make me love him through emails, IM, and phone that is wouldn't matter all the lies he told...and I'm not just talking about the fake pic either, there were loads of lies that he told.

ooooh, that would be wrong....lol

I'm one that believes if you lie about the little things, you will lie about the big ones too. I am not perfect, but I do try. We are always upfront and honest about our sizes, and our relationship status. We expect others to do so as well. We are honest about our obligations such as work, our mini-zoo, insane families, etc - again, we expect others to do so as well. If we catch a prospective boy in a lie, he gets one and only one chance to explain himself, because misunderstandings do happen. If his explination is "well, I lied" then he's done for.

While dealing in this search a lot of us are going through, often times I find it painful to be so absolutely up front and honest to a fault, simply IMO to avoid having a face to face embarassement. But I do so because, if not honest you deal with 2 things..first off you are showing that person, you think you are not good enough for them. ..second off you are having them become attracted to someone who is not "you"....and frankly if what you have is not what they "seek" though the rejection can be painful at times..it is best to discover sooner rather than later.Have I had the experience of being lied to?..of course...I have run the gamut of liars..the married ones...the liars of height..the liars of experience in WIITWD..the "college educated ones" who never went....the polyamourous who claimed to be monogomous..ad infinitum...but you know what?..I never became upset by it!...I simply looked upon each and every experience as this will be a funny story that you may tell someday to someone who needs a laugh..:0)........Tempting

This may be off the current flow of the thread, but it goes along with the original topic, that of lying and admitting to lying. First, i have borderline personality disorder, and have lied all my life to protect myself from people and to hide my emotions. i've gotten SO much better at it, and have not lied to Master yet, even when i thought He would abandon me like my former Master (and of course He didn't, this was just my disorder getting the best of me).

But if i did ever lie to Master, of course i would own up to it! He knows there is the possibility of my lying, and i know there would be major punishment for it, but if i didn't tell Him i had lied, i would be punished even more if He found out, and my internal punishment would be very great also. i can't imagine ever lying to Him and not telling Him.

I lie sometimes about stuff that I don't want to be true at that moment. Like if I'm in my shy mode and want to hide, I'll say I'm 5'10 (I'm 5'11"). It's incredibly stupid, but I've done it. I've done it straight to people's faces while in my head I'm hoping they don't know how tall they are in comparison.

Here's another one that I've done: I don't tell my real bra size because it's an odd one and I don't want them looking at my breasts trying to figure out what 30F means. Sheesh, I can be petty, I know.

But the good news is, that when I'm feeling my normal confident self I own all of me.

Depends why and what. When I joined here I was inundated by HNGs who apparently couldn't read the words happily collared sub. So I changed my age to 80.

I got a couple of emails after that from people curious if I was really that old, I responded with the truth and why, they were all accepting and nobody accused me of being an untrustworthy liar who ought to be tarred and feathered for finding a way to stop the deluge of mail. After a few weeks of no more mail, I changed it back to normal. It's my profile and I have every right to say whatever I want to in order to be comfortable.

Did I mislead people? You bet. But it doesn't bother me at all, since people who had shown themselves to be disrespectful do not merit my respect.

Errrmm, no.... lol Straight here; only looked at male profiles when its had something to do with posting.

And not to brag, but that 52yo hunky-dorey face over to the left is ALLLL *me*. Am the height my profile states, too! But the best part? Over at bondage.com, there's a profile check-box for dick length and I always felt "ashamed" that I have less than the apparently minimum 8" dick of ALL the twue doms on site! Considerably less, dammit! Must be their way of (inadvertantly) sorting us wannabe doms from the bunch....

Perhaps he simply didn't feel a d/s chemistry with you - in person. I would not be regarded as a 'submissive person' by most people. However, with that one person, I am entirely submissive. Sometimes, you see the beginnings of a d/s dynamic with someone via chat and telephone, but in person, something in the chemistry is lacking.

It's not necessarily appearance, although it can be. It's just one of those things. I honestly can not say until I'm with a person - whether or not I will feel the appropriate chemistry to share my submission with that person. He may well be a very submissive person... he just isn't so inclined with you.

i used to lie about my age just because there are decade markers people use to filter out (or in) potential subs. In the past i didn't see it as a problem because i owned up to the fib in the first email but a little lie is still a lie and if my age is an issue then it is and i would not want that little fib to be sitting there like a turd in the punchbowl. i like who i am, i think getting older beats the alternative. And it clears out the emails a lot! *grins*

Being somewhat petulant that I stuck my birthday in when I signed up and the site didn't calculate it (I was 50 when I joined) I said I was 52 a full six months before I actually was.

I am just so fuckin' ashamed.......

I have also considered increasing my height cause I could go for a tall girl in a big way, but haven't as of yet. (Because they got the hink, and I got that kink.)
