~~Also, as I do not copy and paste from a dictionary, which you seem to believe makes you more intellectual, you will forgive me for not having all the time in the world to spend dragging on the tops, but you are quite welcome to spellcheck my posts and re-type them for me.~~

I don't believe that using a dictionary makes me more intellectual, simply more informed and I wanted to be sure everyone knew that I was using the correct word in the correct context.  To prove it is not a "MUTE" point, but rather a "MOOT" point.

Please study the above corrected post.  The punctuation is correct as is the spelling of the word "intellectual", becuase, quite frankly, "interlectual" detracts from the overall impression of your level of education and intellect.  I'm sure you are far more capable you have demonstrated so far.  And as to your remark about multi-racial counties being a failure, I invite you to show me ANY country that is perfect, regarless of being multi-racial, multi-cultural or, in fact, multi-anything.

~~edited to correct a typo, which I am not to proud to admit to.

As you can see from my last post, and the post above the one i have quoted, intellectual is spelt correctly, so for you to pick away at something i wrote rather quickly at 3am is rather pathetic to be honest, and i fail to see how it, or any of your comments, relate to the room topic.
As for your reasoning on copy and pasting words, and there meanings, out of the dictionary as you being more informed, i find this slightly ironic as you are rather less informed on the topic you insist on posting on.. being as you're not even in the UK...its a bit like people having an opinion on the show and the way people have acted on that said show without having actually seen the show...do you see?

Ok this is starting to bore me now, and i'm sorry i keep bring this back to the actual room topic, being as you all wish to take it in different directions, but at the end of the day this had nothing to do with Jade being racist, it had to do with knocking her celebrity down..which is why the media focused on only jade.

If this was really a race issue, and the media was really concerned about racist behaviour in the house then in todays papers they would be reproting on the latest conflict in the house also as racism..but they havent, and they wont, for the simple reason that the people invovled in the latest conflict are all white, though still of different races, one being american, one being english.  Its got all the traits of the last conflict..mocking accents (shilpa herself putting on an american accent), sniggering with one another about the american, and calling names..also race generalising (shilpa saying people from where the white american come's from don't have manners)...the same as Danelle saying people in india eat with there hands..only one's reported in the press as a racist comment, the other isnt.

Ladyellen you asked what my problem is that i see in your posts. I have already stressed this countless times now yet you seem unable to listen/or take in anothers opinion.

You mentioned 6 bullet points

On your very first point you said that there actions are down to jealousy not racism but there jealousys expressed in a racist way...how? tell me the way their jealousy was expressed that made you believe it to be racist? as all i saw was bitching between TWO people, each of different race, yet ones racist the other is not.

On your second point you say the people harrasing her are stupid and ignorant. Please tell me in what way you believe they are stupid and ignorant..again having never watched the show. Is it because the other person they are arguing with is asian?

On your third point you say the number of complaints mean something...there complaints for me become less valid when it appears that most of them are from people who have never watched the show or know exactly what form this racism has taken place, and like yourself decided that if two people of different races are arguing and one is white its obvious the white one is being racist towards the other.
I have already gone over just why its got the media attention it has in a previous post..its because in india she's an idol, and they, also having never seen the show, got hearsay of it and decided to protest by burning a white doll and shouting racial abuse towards the whites...only that was a protest for there rights, not racism. This in turn ofcourse caught the medias eye and they sold it to us, which ofcourse being as the asian population in this country need little excuse to shout racism ment thousands of phone calls to channel 4, and has to this point, as reported in the paper today, lead to riots where asians have shouted over speakers "white trash, white pigs" ...none of the papers have refered to this as racism by the way.

On your fourth point you say you fear for the generation that holds stupid people like Jade as role models..and i have to agree with you, but sadly this will always be the case, as more and more people become famous for nothing they're hardly likely to inspire and challenge the people mentally, as they're often safe bets who have no views on politics ect..aand as we've seen you can't afford to have such views in this PC world..ignorance and stupidity get you far in todays age..just look at George Bush.

On your fith comment you mention you believe theres no connection between class and race, and stupidity and ignorance...well you get the education you pay for, but you can't learn from fools, and everybodys point of view on the world should differ to some account.

On your sixth comment...i think you missed the point i was trying to make.

ORIGINAL LadyEllen
There is no problem with comedic interpretations and expressions Seeks - there is a south Asian comedian who takes off white people on the Comedy Channel from time to time, and good old Bernard Manning is as popular as ever (including with non whites). The problem is, when the portrayal crosses the line from observation to ridiculous stereotyping. Jim Davidson crossed that line, in much the same way that your comment about black muggers did. That you apparently cannot see the distinction is well, interesting.

Stereotyping is a standard technique (sp) in a comedian's repetoire.(sp) In the UK for instance the witless Northern buffoon, the absent minded vicar, the dopey hooray Henry, the repressed but sexually hot secretary, the domineering Mother in Law etc etc
Only with the rise of PC thinking did certain aspects of it be deemed worthy of censure, paradoxically by that sector of society that is prepared to countenence really offensive presentations in the name of Art.

Bernard Manning may well be popular but he is not allowed to present his act on TV. same with Benny Hill, when he was alive of course !

meanwhile the cockless, viagra needing, firing-neuroin-impaired "wannabe TV Exec" assholes who likely convinced Shilpa and the slag to fabricate the "event" are likely laughing as they have their corporate netmonkeys spin doctor this thread into even more fodder for the ratings cannon.

if you wanna stop racism or encourage your own specific brand/definition of "intellectual", and are as smart as you deem yourself to be, you'll stop snarking and bitching at each other on this thread and any other, and be willing to engage in a boycott of any advertisers for the program and all of those like it, forgoe a Big Mac or Coke that'll kill you anyway but putting in print you'll say "fuck you Mackers" WILL affect the fear whores of the corporate advertisers, and THEN make a diference.

since if you are not willing to do that, it's all fucking hot air, no matter what culture or ethnicity or demographic yuou come from.

By the way, a THREATENED boycott (not even enacted) caused RUPERT FUCKING MURDOCH himself to change policy RE screenwriting for Married with Children back in the late 80's (before the net and its advantages for positive change), which was on national and international TV News.  One lousy sexually deprived bee hive hair-do housewife bitching about one scene with a few sex toys changed CORPORATE POLICY for fucking FOX TV.

all she did was a write a few letters (this was before E-MAIL, for god's sake).

Rupe's balls crawled into his abdomen.

She did less, wrote less, than each of you bitching at each other here, in this thread, and harmed freesom of creativity and of speech.

anyone unwilling to so or less after blasting each other (with false propriety and pseuso civility) in this thread?

A:  Not as smart as you fancy yourself

B:  Not putting your $ where your mouth is

C: Not as "anti racist" as you'd like us to believe

why?

It's all about the advertising $ and you KNOW that, and the Ad $ RULES the TV.

stop being net pikers (to use a Brish-ism) and start being willing to BOYCOTT.

Since if the loons behind the Gunpowder Plot had the brains to use boycott versus barrels they would have DESTROYED the administration they loathed, legally, and left the building standing, yet leaving their foes in puddles of tears.
