ORIGINAL: farglebargle Microsoft's BIG claim has always been, "You don't need to retrain users", so given that as a starting point, there should be no operational differences between XP and Vista. Any that exist are a failure of Microsofts vision. *yawn* They'll be "failing" all the way to the bank. Enron made a lot of money too, for a while. What has MSFT *really* brought to the table, that other people don't already provided faster, cheaper, and better? quote:
The real question is, "If Vista is so great, Why did Jim Alchin lose his job"? Because he retired? ~stef The old, "Wanted to spend more time with my family", works too, when covering up the continued failure. When did Alchin start promising "The Filesystem of the Gods"? 1990? 1991? 1992? Cairo was scheduled for 1994 shipping. Did Alchin deliver? No. The then put Vines-Dude in charge of NT, screwing Cutler. Then in 99, he got put in charge of the whole O/S division. Which considering that Apache then took over the internet, wasn't too good of a showing either.
