It's my fault for saying Jesus doesn't exist.

I take it all back, he is actually a car salesman.

We all have jokes, you want to hear the one about the 2 Jews and the Muslim crossing the street?
Religion bashing is fine, just don't leave ANY religions out!

What was it about labelling people, popeye? You've been going on about 'The Left' like a broken record for about a dozen posts in a row, as if it were an all-encompassing term for all those out there who disagree with your idea of a perfect society. For someone who doesn't like labels, you certainly use them a lot.

Just sayin'  .

I think you raise a good point. I do feel more comfortable mocking Christianity possibly because that is the one I’m personally more familiar with. It’s strange that I almost see Islam as a guest religion in the western world and as such I have to be on my best behaviour with it. Mind you the whole 'can’t make pictures of Mohamed' is funny considering how many of them name their children Mohamed. If you have a son called Mohamed you can’t look at him and if he looks in the mirror, well he's fucked.

Thank you for at least seeing and admitting, what you were doing.

Sorry, no religions are exempt from "making jokes" about, when we have
"Free Speech".

If we want to joke about one religion, we can joke about all religions.
No "sacred cows" , "yamaca's"  or "burkas".

Yes I have been practicing my pronunciation of emotes and am getting better at it. At one time I was using any old emotes but now I try to express meaning with them.

You can create laws for the actions.

Now all you have to realise is that speech is an action.

True enough, we differ on what degree it is problematic.

1- Francois Mitterand is a useless piece of shit, and should be run out of town.

I'm assuming that those of you on the wrong side of this debate ( ) would deem that "illegal". I would only have an issue with it if someone actually acted on the statement.

*bearing in mind Mr. Mitterand is no longer with us, and hasn't been for quite some time*

2- Francois Mitterand is a useless piece of shit, let's go get him.

To me, that just crossed the line.

I find both statements fine so long as Francois Mitterrand is able to hear them in the afterlife.

How would it be deemed illegal, by whom, and it which circumstances exactly?

Would the "should be run out of town" not fall into what the French seem to see as "instigating hatred"? It seems harsher than Bardot's sheep slaughtering diatribe. Would it matter if we were to find out that Mr Mitterand's cadaver were Muslim?

I do realize none of us here are that intimate with these laws, but unless we can find a French bureaucrat.....

There is a good chance all of that speech by Bardot wasn't heard by us. For example she may have given support to a group that says a lot worse things. We may not hear the whole speech if the media organisations refuse to report it due to the risk of being fined etc.

No, it wouldn't fall into that category.
