I get supplemental income so I do bring in some income. But at the end of the day after cleaning and taking care of a baby, having dinner on the table for him, abd probably being up half the night before(yes i get up with the baby as well), I am exhausted and just want a break, but nope no such luck. I have to serve him take care of him and be alert to be played with or used however he wants, and then go to bed when he says i can, only to do it all again the next day.

This works for us for the most part. He does step in and assist with our child when he can, but i do everything in the house no matter what. It is just what works for us.

imho..if you are "exausted and just want a break" it may not be working as well as you say

those two highlighted parts seem to contradict each other, to me at least.  perhaps have a talk with your master when you can, and work on some type of compromise before you fall over........good luck

Status: offline 		I work full time out of the house, Sir is home most of the time since his work is in the evenings 3 or 4 days a week. I do the housework, the cooking , the laundry, and pay my bills (really hard - online ).   when i  get home i sit and drink a cup of tea for an hour or so - my Sir insists because he says i work hard. Dinner is usually fast and furious, and very simple. Luckily he is a man of simple tastes food wise.

I'm lucky if i get any dishes done (no dishwasher), so they stay in the sink until i have time or inspirations - like running out of coffee cups for Sir.

I am also lucky in that my Sir isn't picky about the housework - he would rather i relax and spend time with him - and so i do lol. I vaccum occasionally and dust occasionally, but i am definitely not a housefrau.  The house is clean , but usually not tidy - and as far as that goes, i do less with my Sir than i did when i was living with my adult kids - and the house looks twice as good.  So i am happy, my Sir is happy , and the kids are grumpy because their livein housekeeper moved out. hehe.
So yes, i do all the housework and grocery shopping, but it is actually less work than i was used to doing when i lived with my kids.  You can't beat it with a stick! pun intended.  And the work comes with benefits.

Status: offline 		I would hope that by the time a relationship has developed,that these issues or expectations have been discussed and agreed upon..so if slave has agreed to work, and do all work in the home, and be entusiastic play partner, then slave should do so..if not..if maybe a slave did not take into consideration all the connotations,..then tough noogies!...you agreed, so suck it up or leave....however...if said Dominant agreed to say do the yard work, cook, and do all the laundry whilst the slave did other chores..and turns around and says.."slave go mow the lawn, there is a football game I wish to watch"..then she has the right IMO to either do so that one time or refuse..and if the Dominant continues to put off what he agreed to as his share..then it is up to the slave to respectfully call him on it...then, it simply comes down to what the Dominants response to that confrontation is,and how the slave reacts to it...bearing in mind of course, that if the slave accepts that he changed his mind, she now accepts that she will do it all........Tempting

Status: offline 		I've cooked and cleaned for two people for years.  Worked a full time job and paid the bills while they didn't do any of this, and I didn't even get sex.  Yes, I was a single mom.

I find my relationship far more balanced and I'll keep it, thank you.

Or they sue for palimony and get some sort of settlement.

Or sometimes they part amicably.

Depends on the people and the situation.  Same could be said of "slaves" who are fully dependent on their owners (which has been asked and discussed repeatedly on these forums)... what happens if the owner dies or kicks them out?  Same answer, depends on the people.

Yes I agree with balance - none of us are energizer bunnies. That goes for Tops too.
My bigger problem has been with bottom/sub/slave types who say point blank no they won't help me out with whatever, but how come we can't play? Huh huh? I Wanna PLAY DAMMIT!
Well Perhaps Madam is too darm tired from doing all the things you wouldn't help me with to play?

funny you should say this....

TheEngineer has said QUITE firmly that i will be given an allowance for the work i do in the home, and that he expects me to save part of it, that he doesnt want me to not be taken care of should something happen (in addition to any insurance he may carry).

so yes, some DO think of these things

Simply just as any woman living alone does all those things!
I run my own business which is pretty much 24/7, i run a pub. I have three unmentionables living with me only one of which is my daughter. For all three i cook, clean, do the laundry, walk the dogs, tidy the kids rooms even. I put out the trash, pretty much do everything.
At present i don't have a Sir but when i do i look forward to taking care of his every whim too. After all what is one more mouth to feed, clean up after etc.
When i did have a Sir i managed all the above and still had time and energy to play too. What seems difficult, unattainable or damn near impossible to some, very rarely is to all.

Status: offline 		I do the majority of the stuff around the house, but Sir does help out often (usually in the kitchen).  He doesn't want me overly stressed out and have that affect my studies or other areas of service to him.  I have a hard time stopping and relaxing, so usually he'll order me to go take a nap and when I wake up he's cleaned the kitchen.  He works 14 days on, 14 days off, and usually this happens 2 or 3 times while he's home.  He'll fix supper a time or two while he's in as well.  At first I didn't like it when he did those things, but he has emphasized that I am human and need a break from things sometimes and also that he decides when I serve him and when I take a break.  It may not be wank fodder, but it's reality.

Status: offline 		When I get home to My Mistress, after 12 hours at work, I would be most disappointed if the kitchen didn’t need tidying up, Her bed didn’t need making and the bath washing etc.
After I have knelt and kissed Her feet I am allowed to pour us both a drink and discuss each others day, but I will soon be in my maid’s uniform and, O so happily, washing and ironing, scrubbing and hoovering.
I may be allowed to sit at table to eat the dinner I have prepared but if not I will be quite content to kneel by her side and eat scraps and leftovers.
I am a masochist, and of course Mistress knows this, so only if I have been a very good ‘girl’ will She treat me and give me a good whipping.
Each night our ritual is the same I get into my nightdress and ready for bed first and wait for my Mistress, She fastens me into ankle and wrist cuffs and locks them together and I lay down to sleep on a thin mattress on the floor by Her bed. I am usually honoured by having the panties She has just removed used as a gag for the night.
I cannot start to describe how happy, content and relaxed the evenings work makes me and how peaceful my nights sleep is.
I am however a very light sleeper so will spend many a long wonderful time looking up at my Mistress, listening to Her sleep, tug at my bondage and drift back to sleep knowing how lucky I am.

Status: offline 		I think it's really a matter of evaluating what kinds of activities GIVE energy and what kinds TAKE it from you. 

So, couldn't you conceive, then, that someone might gain energy from a rewarding job?  Gain energy from service?  From housework? From play?  I think it is a false assumption that all of these things has to be always draining.  I think a good top will know how to attain a measure of balance in their demands based on knowing the energy level of their bottom (and what refuels them).

I've raised three kids  (still raising two) single handedly including all finances, laundry, taxying, gardening, cleaning, shopping and cooking, from scratch, rarely from take aways. I am my own beautician and hairdresser.
I have three different jobs. I have a small group of very close friends. I have submitted to more than one dominat during the past 7 years and served one Master since fleeing a marriage which was abusive and keeping my kids but losing my home when that marriage split.
I am corresponding on-line with a potential Master.
Everything I do I choose to do because it increases my energy. That is what now decides what I do. If I become anxious and my energy falls I leave, get out or change the situation. That is now my determinant of what works for me or not: my energy.

Status: offline 		I think this is one of those times when fantasy and reality crash.

The fantasy being the fully dependant house slave that who's sole purpose is the service of the Master which is only a plausible (or even possible reality) for dominants who have the income to support a non-working partner.

I am not one of those people and whether or not I will be one of those people is a very uncertain future.

I have a very pragmatic and realistic stance to my relationships, though, and what defines them is who makes the decisions and not who does the dishes..

If your like me and not one of those people, then it's inevitable that you are going to have to take on some of the workload for the benefit of both people in the relationship.
