sounds like the flies that buzz around ft hood...but they are not picky...any paycheck will do...lol

These are picky... See they know that a SNA (Student Naval Aviator) will become a Naval Aviator and thus be the perfect husband. He will be gone six months of the year leaving you free to fuck enlisted marines while all your bills are paid... THEN when he gets out he will go to the airlines where he will eventually make $200,000 a year. Have say 3 kids, get like 27% of that on child support... WHOOOOO HOOOOOOO!  In Penasacola we called them the "Palmetto Bugs"... In corpus they were the "Tarmac Debs" basically Gold Wing Groupies...

Yeah the Katrina people got herded over there after Pasadena PD ran them out... Now Sugarland is full of NoTell Motels and hookers and pimps its the drug / whore stroll now....

Aviator, I was watching a news program about that and they showed an interview with some Katrina survivors who really liked Houston and said they were going to stay and "never wanted to go back to NOLA."
They said the people were nice and there were plenty of jobs.

There are plenty of jobs... There is no job shortage in Houston at all. Most Katrina people dont want them LOL Houston is the friendliest folks on earth ... But as for the Katrina thing here is the other side

sorry, grew up in waco...for a lot of the women, that was their weekend, grabbing a soldier from ft hood....lol

D.A. yeah, we all heard about the skyrocketing crime.
But, I suppose there are a lot willing to work too.
Now when I moved here I had to take an 8 hour course to get my CCW "permit" to carry a gun concealed.
This is a "will issue" state so it was no problem.
How is it in Texas to get a CCW "permit"?

DRK, so me owning a house or condo in the Houston area, having a nice pension, new car and being retired I'd be "good pickin's" for the ladies there, eh?

If you have a permit from another state it is valid here. For a Texas permit it is will issue as well (and with the sherrifs signature you can also own Class 3 weapons and Tommy will sign.)  Basically you pass a background check, take a course, shoot a target and get a permit from DPS. They MIGHT waive the course for you. They waived it for me due to military qualification....

No permits at all for long guns to purchase or own, or to carry handguns in your vehicle. (It no longer has to be a journey, perry changed it vehicle is now an extension of your home) The CCW just lets you carry it on your person.... otherwise it stays in the car.

Cool, yeah, and as a former federal leo they even waved the $50 fee for me here with my CG DD-214.
And I enclosed a copy of my N.H. CCW as well.
But, no matter who you are or what you did you still have to take the 8 hour course to become familiar with S.C. state laws.

Corpus is great I was stationed there BUT its hard for a guy to get laid if he isnt a naval aviator... Its one of two Navy primary flight training locations... The corpus girls are just like the Pensacola Palmetto Bug girls... Looking to land themselves an aviator.... Think "an officer and a gentleman"....

I am the offspring of one of those unions.  My mother grew up in Columbus, GA and met my father at the officer's club at Ft. Benning.

Popeye, I'm not sure on the specifics of Texas law regarding Concealed Carry, but from everything I've heard they're very similar to Oklahoma.  Not difficult to get unless you've got a criminal background.  I do know that Texas is one of the states that Oklahoma has a reciprocation situation with as far as such permits go - if you've got one here in OK and move to TX (or vise versa) it's a simple matter to get it switched to the new location.  I can also travel in TX as a visitor with my OK ccp, and it's recognized as valid.
