Darlin' you're wasting your time. When someone has a less than sane view of authority and law enforcement, you will never change their mind. Just take a look at the exchange between him and me. It devolved into him basically putting his fingers in his ears and calling me a cop groupie. Now he thinks he wins because holly put him on hide. What he fails to realize is he lost long ago, he just refuses to realize it. I felt like I was either arguing with a child, or with someone wearing a tinfoil hat. So I decided to let the insane person rant to the walls. Don't waste your time trying to 'convince' him. He's never going to get it. He needs to grow up significantly for that.

I did no such thing.  You're the one that seems to believe that the police should be allowed to do anything they want for their own safety.  I mentioned the Constitution, and you ridiculed that.  Civil rights apparently aren't as important to you as the safety of police officers.

ShaharThorne -> RE: Granny tasers in TX~! (6/13/2009 2:00:42 PM)

Slave, stop making yourself look childish with your vemonous retorts about police officers. If not for the ones trained in mental health issues, I would of been on the streets, without meds, not resting in my mom's place. All you are doing is making yourself look guilty in your hatred.

GreedyTop -> RE: Granny tasers in TX~! (6/13/2009 2:01:15 PM)

The place to argue Constitutional rights is NOT at the side of the road.... it's in the duly appointed COURTS.

Exactly. My lawyer likes the saying "You can beat the charge, but you can't beat the ride." It doesn't matter how much you "know your rights" you're getting in the back of that car and going to jail. The question is will you be doing the taser dance first or not.

"You can dance if you want to,
when the barbs go through your pants.
You claim you can't dance
But if you don't dance
then why did you piss your pants?

Taser dance.........doin' the taser dance."

Venomous?  I'm not being venomous.  I'm not being childish.  I'm stating my opinion, which isn't popular apparently.  What exactly am I making myself look guilty of?  Having free thought?  I don't have any hatred.  I simply don't like the way our criminal justice system works currently.  It's corrupt from top to bottom.  If you don't share my opinon, than that is your right.  But don't try and tell me not to state my opinion.

Another cliche, it must be true.  I guess you should just let the police search your car when they ask, because you can't beat 'em.  You should never assert your rights to a police officer, because you can't beat the ride huh?  If they want to enter your home without a search warrant, you should just let them right?

It's a hybrid of watching "Saving Silverman" one too many times (where a character sings the Safety Dance), and having caught a recent episode of that lame repo show where the big, burly biker-looking guy gets tased by the drunk redneck when they show up to repo his car (he does in fact piss his pants).

The funniest part about that scene, was that in previous repos in that show, the big burly guy almost always assaulted the car owners unprovoked. So it was funny to watch him drop like a ton of bricks from being tased.

But then the "Tased and confused" episodes of Cops are always the best.

You know a radio host I used to listen to loved replaying audio from when a woman in Flordia got tased (after being warned 7 times, swatting the cops' hands and refusing....pretty much everything). He set the audio to that "I've got the power" song from the 80's. It was freakin' hilarious.

That will take some doing. The un-edited clip is readily available. The edit....I'm not so sure about.

Here's the original video:

Be sure to watch all of it. It really makes you cheer when she does the taser dance.

The funny thing was Inside Edition did some "investigative" piece on the incident, conveniently airing only about 5 seconds before the first tase. They implied the cop was wrong and vilified him.

Russ' loyal listeners got him the phone number of the woman (and he sucured the reporter's number through official channels) he first called the reporter and asked why he was intentionally obscuring the facts. He basically made the reporter look stupid.

Then, he called the woman, who was apparently unaware he'd seen the raw footage. She repeatedly denied that the cop warned her she was being tased and flat-out lied about the events. Finally, after she smarted off to Russ yet again, he said she deserved it and if he were there, he'd have daisy-chained some car batteries together for additional effect.

Don't you find it amusing that those who throw out the most well-known cliche there is -- "They can't do that, I know my rights!" -- are always the ones that point out, in their logically-flawed arguments, the cliches you use ?

barelynangel -> RE: Granny tasers in TX~! (6/13/2009 4:27:45 PM)

shakes my head -- bloody incredible.  Absolutely incredible.  People like you are why people who commit non-violent crimes think that they are victims instead of actually criminals and don't think its any big deal and forget the ACTUAL victims.

grins, i would really LOVE to know where you get your presumptions of all this information -- oh wait -- you just KNOW.  Because you are so biased and prejudice and desperate to make criminals the people to care about instead of the actual victims and all of these criminals are really VICTIMS of cops who lie and cheat and everyone else who are involved in their conviction lol.  Okay the gig is up, no one is that incredibly blind.

To bad you are incapable of stating criminals and people who commit crimes should have the same honor and integrity you seem to hold everyone else too.  Perhaps if you did, instead of giving them free passes so their feelings aren't hurt -- we wouldn't NEED a criminal justice system.  Maybe you should try holding the people who commit crimes to some semblance of honor and integrity and responsibililty instead of advocating their lack of responsibility and wanting to simply pat them on the head for it. ANd then you know what THEY WON'T HAVE run ins with these horrible people called cops and the justice system who will make them all victims.

But again, i guess it would be too hard to make people adhere to a personal responsibility of acting within the law instead of whining how awful they are treated when they do whatever they want to whomever they want as long as they don't physically hurt people even though what they do to people DOES HURT people, unfortunately you and them can't see the pain so its really not that big of a deal then.

absolutely incredible.

Hi Loki,

I guess i was hoping no one was that irresponsible or blind.  I think he does get it he just really believes that people who commit crimes don't and shouldn't be forced to take responsibility for their actions and should really get only pats on the head and treated like poor babies who don't know any better, and that just because they didn't physicaly harm someone its okay what they did and they should just get a scolding.

Honestly, i just can't believe there are people this bias against cops they refuse to see who really are the bad guys as a whole.

Of course. You know, each and every time I was pulled over, I wasn't thrilled about it. I was annoyed. I was like "damn, seriously?" But the only two times I had any real annoyance toward the cop and not the situation was the time the cop was just an utter dick and the time that I was "speed-trapped."

I know I will be pulled over again. It's as inevitable as the sun rising. You see in the not too distant future, I'll be driving a 400 horsepower Camaro. You know you HAVE to try those horses out SOME times.

However, being the forward thinker I am, I'm already planning how the stop will go. I'll pull over, put my car in park, roll down my window and hang my hands outside the car. When the cop walks up, I'll go "Afternoon Sir, do you know why I pulled you over?" When I see the confused look on his face, I'll just say "I know, that's your line. But I just thought you'd like to check out new my car."

Strange isn't it? In his world, I think a traffic stop would go something like this:

Cop: "Sir, do you know why I pulled you over?"
Driver: "Who gives a shit? Why are you hassling me?"
Cop: "Because you were speeding."
Driver: "So? You can't stop me. I pay your taxes and you can't make laws. Prove I was speeding, where's the judge? I Want my lawyer."
Cop: "That's handled later Sir, I have to ticket you now."
Driver: "I am not taking a ticket, you can't make me. Fuck off."
Cop: You're right, I can't make you. The new laws leave us cops with no authority whatsoever. You can drive off if you like and I can't stop you."
Driver: "Good, thought so. Fuck off." *Speeds away*
Cop: "Gee, I hope he doesn't run someone over while speeding away like that. I'd chase him, but I'm not allowed. Oh well, if he runs over someone, I'm sure he didn't mean to. After all, he's non-violent and so it won't be like he shot anyone."
