What were the Republicans thinking with this half baked Palin and her 900 year old tired petrified fossil running mate. No wonder the economy collapsed and we have a socialist as president now. The Republicans could have coughed two better people up.

Apparently the "average Joe" voters who selected McCain in the primaries were thinking, "we can't possibly nominate Romney, since he's a Mormon, even though he looks way more Presidential than McCain and isn't an ignoramus on the economy". McCain and his closest advisors then picked Palin. The Republican base loved her. Hopefully the same voters will select her to run in 2012.
