You want to see a quick 180 in this discussion on the part of the left let someone release a video where the school kids are singing the praises of Bush.

[;)]

No, Sanity.  When Republicans are in office, kids don't praise, they write letters protesting stuff (global warming, hunger, war, whatever).  When God's Elect are in office, THEN they sing praises.

I'm not sure a few overzealous songs in NJ have quite turned us into Oceania yet.

No, but it is standing at the head of the path that leads in that direction.

Good point!

Thanks.

Statements like this are generally considered to be racist.  Just an FYI

Under current rules, breathing is considered racist.

I think we should scrap all the threads on this board and make just one topic: the left claiming how badly the right treated them and the right telling us how badly the left is treating them. It's about what everything comes down to.

I was smart (I think) but I also did what I was told....  [;)]

I started to post, but thought better of it.  This is a ridiculous thread.

A voice of reason emerges.

My thoughts exactly.

Spinner, history is replete with dictators who had just "seven years to go" until they were term-limited out.  But with sufficient indoctrination of kids of all ages, and massive government largess strategically directed to potential supporters, these dictators somehow managed to get past those pesky term limits.

Kinda like FDR...another Democrat. He got past the two term limit, too. And I won't even bother going into detail my opinions of HIM.

Wrong.

One was posted on August 24th of this year.

The rest of your post just shows more of your bigotry and i refuse to play into it.

There was not a term limit when FDR was in office.

Leiren,

Once again your grasp of the facts, history and such never ceases to amaze me.

FDR didn't "get around" the two term limit. The two term limit was put in AFTER FDR died. Until then, there was no constitutional term limits in place.

I thought that was kind of common knowledge. It made all the papers.

tazzygirl -> RE: Indoctrination centers (9/24/2009 8:22:19 PM)

In fact, the term limit came about because of Hoover as a result of FDR winning four terms. In essence, FDR created the need for term limits.

And I shall from this point forward refer to the sitting president as 'Barack Hussein Obama'. That was the tagline in the little shenanigans that started this thread. It's fitting in my mind that he is forever known as Barack Hussein Obama.

I'm pretty sure it's fitting in everyone's mind, including Barack Hussein Obama, since that is his name.

The 22nd Amendment, which limits Presidents to two terms, came after FDR's death.

You can say that again.

Exactly, tazzy....what a surprise for those who think term limits were written in 1492 when Jesus sat down with our founding fathers to write the Declaration of Constitution.

Political science and history were not my favorite subjects.

Sooooo...............are you then suggesting that Obama is trying to set up a dictatorship and rule for life?

Just curious.

MichiganHeadmast -> RE: Indoctrination centers (9/24/2009 8:38:54 PM)

Prior to FDR, there was in fact a two-term tradition, observed by all former presidents (although the other Roosevelt may have been willing to break the tradition via his run as an independent).  It was FDR's tenure brought to light generally the need to incorporate such a limit into the Constitution (which others had attempted to do previously).
