Colin Powell is the farthest thing from being a conservative. His views were way left of Bush's. That is the reason he no longer was Secretary of State under Bush. Remember Powell went on to support Obama. That is not a conservative by any stretch of the imagination.
How silly of me....I thought he resogned over a difference of views concerning certain lies told at the UN...and the disasterous dicision to invade Iraq....as for the Obama support, wasn't that in response to the the McCain/Palin ticket?
But what the hell...he disagrees with the right wing agenda of the loons in his party so throw him under the bus, besides you have Michael Steele now...who needs Powell.

mnottertail -> RE: McCain camp: Palin account 'all fiction' (11/17/2009 9:52:36 AM)

I gotta take it back now, THAT is the funniest shit on collarme.

Colin Powell is a moderate republican

He was national security advisor for Ronald Reagan and Seretary of State for George W Bush and before that Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff for Bush I.

Military men are not known for their pinko flaming liberal views.

Only AT&T poleclimbers (ret) are pinko flaming liberals.....

LOL.

You guys just say whatever the fuck comes out of your head don't you? Don't care for its appearance, and certainly don't give a fuck if it is true.

But why should anyone feel any sense of decency toward Sarah Palin? She has no decency herself, so she's not entitled to any. She's a coldblooded, lying, hateful bitch, and I feel as much decency toward her as I would to Joe McCarthy or Joseph Goebbels. If you want to cozy up to that sort of person and treat them with "decency," be my guest... the rest of us have somewhat higher standards.

The only standard that matters is the one that we apply to ourselves and to our own behavior. It is not "cozying up" to someone to treat them with decency.

For example, I would still fuck her. [:D]

Damned decent of you!

As for the fact-checking, is anyone on here aware that it took 11 checkers to find those 6 facts?  That's less than one misstatement per checker, spun by the organization that hired them...the AP, such a non-partisan group.

Probably those who took the time to read the fact check article and found more than the six I posted here.

But let's not let facts stand in the way of condemning the fact check article.

By the way, I always find it interesting how conservatives say the AP is partisan but never hesitate to cite it when they are in agreement.

So what?

The lies couldn't have been all that serious if it took that many people to find them? Is that it?

You'd almost think the goosestepping fascists in the conservative movement don't like it when the pinko commie liberals use their own tricks against them.

It is refreshingl to hear you admit that those on your side are every bit as much a bunch of scumbags as you accuse others of being, and that y'all consider your conduct fully justified by what you perceive other people to be doing. Now that's the kind of logic and devotion to principle that we need running this country.

Hell i really wonder when i see all those people today who seems to trow the terms like commie, nazi and fascist around. I doubt any of them really have a clue what those terms stands for. I visited commie countries years back, i have driven through Checkpoint Charlie with the chilling feel of several machineguns pointing at my back. One of my first girlfriends mother hadn't seen her family for decades as they still lived in DDR. I have stood in Auswitz, walked the endless amount of crosses in Normandie and spoken to a number off older Italiens and Spaniards who lived in that era of Franco and Mussolini. I very rarely use any of those 3 terms on anybody as really in todays politicfs they are as scarce as hens teeth. Ok not quite. We do have a naziparty in Denmark counting like 200 assholes, but most people see them for what they really are. Just a source of utter amusement with their antics.

Perhaps not. It's a man. A man I disagree with at times, but a man, and one who thinks for himself. A good soldier, does his duty--the UN speech set up for example--and a man I respect, even when I disagree with him.

Honestly, it's the current crop of conservatives who give conservatives a bad name.

Interesting, Rich. During the campaign, in response to a direct question, you definitely saw her as presidential material, and defended her as such. Change of heart? Just curious, and if so, the reason(s).

Nope.  I saw her as a good VP pick (predicted it a week in advance, as a matter of fact), for reasons I stated repeatedly.  I especially liked the way she reacted to corruption, when she encountered it (bringing down a sitting Governor of her own party, unlike President Obama, who got himself a bigger yard).  Given 4 years of massive OJT in a McCain administration, she might have become a serious player.  That didn't happen.  Paths not taken, and all that.

Now compared to the experience level of a certain junior Senator, who had never run anything, she certainly had a better resume for the job.

Thanks Rich--I appreciate the reply.

Hey, she's demonstrating what a multitasker she is - check out the impressive balance. That's pure conservative chick core control. Swaying libs couldn't handle a juggernaut of Joe and USA Today with such gusto.

Sanity -> RE: McCain camp: Palin account 'all fiction' (11/17/2009 7:09:04 PM)

I think Liberals hate Sarah Palin because she's a woman.

Face it, Sarah Palin is a girly woman. A mother and a grandmother, they believe she has no business running for president - because they believe that a president should be a man. If they were truly worried about her intelligence then they would hate Joe Biden equally as much, becauser there is no bigger fool in politics than Joe Biden.

And Hillary? [X(] She's more manly than Bill for hecks sake. And far, FAR more manly than Barack...
