ORIGINAL: domiguy Reid is an idiot, somewhat truthful, but a moron no doubt. But ya gotta love the word "negro." It's a fucking hoot to say. This is what Lott said: "I want to say this about my state: When Strom Thurmond ran for President, we voted for him. We're proud of it. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn't have had all these problems over all these years, either." Is this close to the same thing? If you can't see the difference there is no point in continuing forward. What Lott said is ridiculous. he is talking about voting for a known racist for President. A man that if elected would have had dire repercussions for every black person residing within this country... In 1948 Thurmond ran for President he only carried four states and received 39 electoral votes. In one 1948 speech, met with cheers by supporters, this is what Thurmond had to say... "I wanna tell you, ladies and gentlemen, that there's not enough troops in the army to force the Southern people to break down segregation and admit the nigra race into our theaters, into our swimming pools, into our homes, and into our churches." If anyone thinks that Reid is promoting the same thing as Lott please speak up. I implore you to please utilize the smallest level of common sense before you start typing. Yup, Strom Thurmond's only platform was segregation, and that is the only thing Lott could possibly have been referring to as "problems". Sorry, but if you can only read race into his comments, you are the racist. So, big fucking deal I am a racist.....So Einstein, what were the other "problems" in '48 That Strom would have dealt with differently than his opponents. All ears here, dick. Specific platforms arent the point, dick, unless youre claiming there werent any.
