Because as a country we haven't got the balls to force automakers away from petroleum based fuels to alternative ones. Brazil is growing GDP at about 10%. They don't use gasoline in their cars. Coincidence?

To some extent that is true. The big 3 killed the electric cat and the street car system.

The thing is- big business wields alot of power even today.... maybe more-so.

The IMF took Brazil down a few years ago... we must factor in faulty monetary policy - because no other problem is fixable unless we fix that.

Don't try and change the subject. They went straight off petroleum. They are growing 5 times faster than we are. They could give a shit what happens in the middle east. They don't worry about BP fucking up their water. The people have the power here now. We are just too fucking stupid to use it.
